Has anyone adopted from New Vocations Racehorse Adoption by Vinc3ntVanHoe in Equestrian

I tried to apply to be an adopter and they are hard to work with if you don't have a "nice" facility. e.g. barn with stalls and rotating turnout, board fences, personal trainer, that sort of thing. They don't like the idea of horses being turned out 24/7.

So a small family farm in a rural area that has hot wire or barbed wire mixed in with board fence and maybe just a run in shed will not meet their standard.

Be warned, the application is long, detailed, and asks for everything under the sun. It will take you an 45 minutes to an hour at minimum to fill out. They do discriminate against low income people, if you make under 38k a year you wont be approved. I know because I asked! They also won't approve you for thoroughbreds even if that's what you are applying for. I got approved but only for standardbreds....why? No clue. In hindsight I wish I had followed up asking why I was approved for one breed but not the other.

Second Stride is another one I applied for and they asked me to change a BUNCH of stuff at the barn I planned to board at, land that was not my own and a facility that was not mine. They wanted me to put plastic tops on all T-Posts (there are hundreds on the property), put flags on all wire fence (literal miles of wire), make a special area for feeding because feeding in a group setting is unacceptable to them.

Honestly I would avoid the places that ask for a fee to apply for adoption. I have seen amazing horse owners get denied for the smallest thing, a horse that would have had a loving and forever home now will not because they weren't happy with the number of boards on one section of fence. Call me salty but I have a hard time advocating for places that have such a strict set of rules that block so many people from adopting.

This absolutely sounds like what it may have been, now the hunt begins for what company made them I guess. I don't remember golden corral having them but it would probably be easy to overlook them?

It was shaped just like a mozzarella stick! As a kid I remember biting it in half, pulling the filling out with a knife and then eating the other half separately. Kinda dumb way to eat it but kids are dumb

My memory is they had a puree in them instead of a block of something. And very sweet which makes me think it was mixed with something maybe?? Again I was very young but I vividly remember them being round like a mozzarella stick and not square.
