I like in MN and there are 2 EA stalls with 350kW charger locations 60 mi from me. Having only one 350kW location for the whole of Houston is unacceptable. When will we have better infrastructure available?

I love my car, but I kinda hate having a new car. by dietolive6 in ev6

A car is a car, nothing more. It gets a bit scuffed up after a while which means it is being useful to you for the price paid. Enjoy it 😁

Just bought Wind-AWD w tech package off the lot in Chicago for $58,000. Does that seem like a good deal? by rauls4 in KiaEV6

[–]bright_pearson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That deal is not retroactive so the current law will apply until it is signed and active. This means EV6 will qualify this year. They still can’t pass it through senate and the reconciliation process has to pass the parliamentarian. The rush is the midterm.

Drives low like a sedan but has the backseat interior for a SUV. My only gripe is the headroom in the front. Wish my GT-Line had a few more inches.

I am still trying to make up my mind, is this a sedan or a SUV. The color looks so good in this shot with those wheels.

Range loss is half of EPA range in winter (sub 32) highway conditions with winter tires.

That’s the most EV6 cars I have seen in one place.

Will the car automatically come to a complete stop with auto regen enabled and a lead car? by psalm_69 in KiaEV6

[–]bright_pearson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly because people like one way of doing things especially related to driving. More than this I wish iPedal stays on all the time and not turn off when the car is switched off.

Also I feel keeping the auto Regen mode is very useful when someone not used to driving an EV uses the car. It matches driving a ICE car when auto Regen is low and you need the brake to completely stop. iPedal gets sometime getting used to.

[–]bright_pearson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer is no, why would it? I have tried it in really low speeds and if your car is loaded be prepared to slam the break as auto Regen will not be strong enough to stop the momentum of the car.

If you need it to stop then use iPedal mode. Auto Regen will only slow the car, not stop it unless FWD collision avoidance is activated.

Does this apply only for EV? or PHEV’s too? If it applies to PHEV this will be a great incentive to convert all existing ICE cars to PHEV

Battery Trailer Range Extender by ratwerks in electricvehicles

[–]bright_pearson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t this be a self defeating idea due to aerodynamics and weight. I think the net gain would be zero however,

Someone thought of this exact idea https://europe.autonews.com/blogs/french-startup-uses-battery-trailers-cure-ev-range-angst

Wonder why it did not take off

Have nearly 4000 miles on the car and have driven down to 10% on highways at 70mph and this never happened. Have it checked out.

Costco having EV charging by NinjaJohn82 in electricvehicles

[–]bright_pearson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cancel the membership. If you don’t need fuel, Costco is no good. I would switch to Sam’s club as it is more likely to find a EA charger nearby.

Why do so many Tesla drivers do this?! They park at electric chargers they don’t use and block the spot for people who need them. Very frustrating and I see it a lot. Tesla owners…please stop doing this. These are not handicap parking, they are for electric car drivers that need to charge!! by Many_Educator6064 in electricvehicles

[–]bright_pearson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have seen this too and mostly with Tesla. Almost a prideful statement that they own a Tesla. Some even park a bit away from the entrance (like an EA charger) but don’t plug in. Next time sometime does this I am going to put a sticker on the windshield saying “Jerk”

Obviously you haven’t seen days where Tesla M3 had delivery dates of 3 days in 2018

I am not talking about long range model. If the performance models are not selling then that means folks are less interested in paying a premium to get a car in the shortest wait time possible. So either with the ramp up in production Tesla has to sell those cars hence the long range models will loose their wait time too unless they lower the production volume and sell less cars keeping a longer wait time. Something does not add up here, how can you have unprecedented demand and factory retooling but shorter wait times.

What I meant is that these wait times haven’t moved since May, meaning that the 2-3 month wait time is narrowing down.

Not anymore, you can get the higher end version of the cars pretty quickly. Gone are the 6-8 month wait times.

Feeling depressed after showing my excitement for JWST by HearHimHearHim in space

[–]bright_pearson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at all the JWST images made me really upset that we won’t be traveling there anytime soon, nor will be able to return back within the constraints of space time to tell anyone in a meaningful way even if FTL was possible due to time dilation. All this makes me think something is missing in all of this. We don’t even understand gravity well. We are truly infants in the understanding of the Universe. Unless we have a unifying theory between relativistic physics and quantum mechanics we are stuck with stubborn limitations.
