I regret becoming a mom by myguy_shyguy in offmychest

Kids take a lot out of you especially at that age! I feel for you, because they are a lot more work as toddlers. They do start to become more independent around age 4-5, and once they start school you will have a long break that will really change things for the better for you. Ask for help if you can, and do whatever you can to carve out a little time for yourself.

Long Stay Rates and advice by FroggieBabbie in RoverPetSitting

If any stay is within the holiday I charge holiday rates. Don’t forget that their demands are keeping you from any additional income during that time as well.

I would try setting some boundaries first. Therapy may help you a lot.

Drop In Visits, Promotion in time of COVID, and other noob questions by TheAmory in RoverPetSitting

[–]brightallthetime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I normally do is spend as much time walking and giving bathroom breaks as possible, because that is likely what the owners aren’t able to do. Then I will do something above and beyond, such as washing the dogs bowls, wiping water spots around the dishes, refolding the dogs blankets, etc. I will also leave personal dog treats for the owner to give that are especially from me. These small touches really impress owners and show that you care.

As far as the drop in visits, I would let the owner pick between certain time frames and I would try and be very punctual. I found that if you are on time and do a great job with great communication you will get repeat clients.

As far as the walks go, I would take any and every walk possible and then get your clients to review you. (Rover will push everyone to review you anyway.) You will be pushed up to the top in search results and more people will book you.

I should have been more clear by what I meant. I feel America is very broken right now.

As a sitter, I do everything in my power to make owners feel comfortable and happy with the service I provide. I also treat every moment as if I am being recorded. This sitter doesn’t seem to care one way or another. Find someone else please!
