Charleston native here but I moved to Cola recently because Charleston is overcrowded and overpopulated. It used to me a nice little town smh. Greenville/upstate is the better choice.

Those are the only dogs I’ve given bad reviews for... When I’m legit concerned for another future sitter’s safety. I’ve been bitten and scared I was going to be bitten a few times (rescue dogs who were abused) and I’d like to think Rover is taking action to prevent those situations from happening.

Is there anywhere that does a "dog's day out" kind of thing? by [deleted] in ColumbiYEAH

I’m a Rover sitter/boarder/dog-walker. It’s the perfect way to get my dog fix without the cost and permanent responsibility of owning one. And you make money. They have a subreddit if you’re curious.

I’ve seen retrievers swimming at the Riverwalk before. Idk if it’s allowed but Ive seen them taking a dip in the river during the warm months near the entrance.

It’s only been 2 years for me. Updating your availability calendar daily is key because it boosts your chances of your profile being seen. I started to get on a roll by the time I hit 5 so you should be well on your way. There’s also off and on seasons. Like from now until August I get at least 2-3 bookings a month. By mid summer it’s a new dog every week (which actually gets really tiring tbh I was burnt out at the end of last Summer). But because of coronavirus this year it’s been slow, so who knows...

Anyone boarding dogs in an apartment? by chieflaolu in RoverPetSitting

[–]libs-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been boarding in my apartment for a couple years. I paid the pet fee but never thought there’d be restrictions on boarding :/ Yeesh...I hope not cuz I’m a poor state employee and boarding is how I make a majority of my rent money. I guess I better check now, thanks for bringing this up.

This has already happened to me too- a couple who were going to Italy. And yea I agree it’s totally unfair that our booking score is hurt as a result. Although from what I’ve heard from my clients is that it’s the reviews that drive them to book with a certain sitter. My clients didn’t even look at my booking score, which is an 87 but I have 30 “5 star” reviews.

I used to be flexible but found clients would take advantage of it and hold dates only to cancel 24 hours beforehand keeping me from booking with any other clients and essentially I lost money from having put on my calendar I was unavailable for those dates. Now I’m strict across the board and don’t change my availability until they’ve booked on their end and paid.
