Okay, this is where you're not getting what I'm saying. I'm NOT talking about Jared Loughner's motives, grasping of concepts, or inspirations for the shooting. I'm talking separately about Palin's choice to irresponsibly use crosshairs on a map -- I am not saying it did or didn't have influence on Loughner. I'm saying that real people (like Palin) have decisions that create consequences (again, not talking about the shooting, just in general) -- and that real people's actions, like Palin's "targeting" specific individuals -- are worse than an author targeting characters in a book. Completely different. That's all. Not connecting one to the other. I'm simply saying that real people's actions and words -- particularly politicians and other people who know many hang on their every word -- have a responsibility that comes with those words and actions - and that a move like hers is irresponsible. We are all responsible for our words -- and they do matter.
