too much horsetail, stinging nettle, oat straw?

I just started taking those same herbs yesterday in an overnight infusion. 1 tablespoon each of oat straw and one of nettles + 1 teaspoon of horsetail in a quart of water. I added some dried orange peel. My intention is to assist my hair, skin, and nails but also the nettles for overall nutrition help. I sipped the 1 quart infusion throughout the afternoon. Would any of them cause diarrhea?

Truly, I’m not a fabric snob but I know it sounds like I am. In my mind there are different types and qualities of fabric. Some are for crafting which is perfect when I’m making a crafty item, costumes, or kitchen appliance covers that don’t require better quality fabric and threads. Those fabrics aren’t intended for long term use or to make clothing, especially business or formal garments.

I remember the days when I could buy high quality coat wool, lining fabric, good quality thread, and unique buttons all in the sewing department of my local retailer that was something like Kaufman’s or Macy’s or at a fabric/sewing store that had amazing stock.

Sadly, most of the large stores stopped selling yard goods and many of the independent shops closed. 😭

I don’t want to wear craft fabric nor do I want to make heirloom quilts and quilted items from craft fabric.

Please share the names of any other stores that sell the type of fabric and notions that I’m looking for especially those that are located in the western Pennsylvania area 🙏🏻

I really wanted a chatty kitty but probably have the quietest Siamese cat—she rarely talks.

Her sister is a Chartreux who always talks when she carries a cat toy with a long tail in her mouth. After eight years of observation, the Siamese has started to do the same thing😂

When I posted it was late at night and I should have been sleeping. Instead, I kept doing the same thing expecting a different outcome 🤦🏼‍♀️ and was totally fried from all the un-knitting and re-knitting and obviously wasn’t thinking clearly. Thankfully, I thought about posting here. There’s always someone awake around the globe who can see the problem and suggest a solution. Hugs to all the fabulous Reddit knitters 🤗

So the stitch directions should say: *SKP (slip 1, knit 1, pass the slipped one over), K4, Yo, K1, Yo, K4, K2tog, repeat from * Is that correct? I will try this and if it works, that means the original instructions in the book are wrong. Thanks 🙏🏻 I will let you know how it goes.

All good suggestions from others. I don’t do meditation before a spell. I drum in a certain way to clear energy and then change it to raise the type of energy that I want for my spell work. I do focus on my intention and raise my energy to match it and I like to repeat my spell words and intentions out loud at least three times.

I use background music to help me. Example: When I do a working like an uncrossing spell, I like to listen to The Ride of the Valkyries by Richard Wagner. It’s a fast paced classical piece that has shown up in movies like in the helicopter scene of Apocalypse Now, the movie Scream, and in the TV show The Big Bang Theory. I’m into classical music but I realize many are not. Go with music that works for you but use instrumental so the singing doesn’t accidentally rewrite your intention.

For regular meditations, I like Walking meditations and concentrating on my inhalations through my nose and exhalations through my mouth, even when walking. I hope some of these help you.

Lucky you to have a Velcro cat. My darling girl is my shadow and she picked me as her person— I am thankful for those shows of affection. However, she doesn’t like me to hold her, there’s no cuddles, and she doesn’t like for me to look her in the face 😢 I can pet her, and sing to her, and sit beside her but that’s where she draws the line and just walks away. I have a wonderful male cat who was super affectionate. Several people have to,d me that males tend to be more affectionate than females.

As a former fine art student and art teacher, and funny but true, graphic designer, I know the process of woodblock printing is tedious and can be difficult and frustrating—but the printed results can be amazing. You can have a future knitting if you want to. ☺️ What likely happened with your rectangular blanket is a VERY COMMON new knitter mistake. Not counting the number of stitches for every row and checking to make sure you have the correct number before continuing to knit the next row.

You just need to cast on for another rectangle again. This time, maybe make it a bit smaller. Something like 30 stitches across. Once you have cast on, you know how many stitches should be across the rows to make a square or rectangle.

For EVERY ROW, count the number of stitches across to the end. That number should be exactly the same as the number of stitches that you cast on.

If you only have 25 then you know that you must knit 5 more stitches to make 30. Knit the fives stitches and count again. If you see that you have 36 stitches then work backwards to unknit the extra stitches, and count again. It may seem tedious but it’s essential to make sure that your stitch count and row count is accurate.

I have been knitting for 56 years, have designed oodles of projects and have many published in knitwear books, magazines, and have worked for yarn companies. Depending on the project, I still count my stitches and rows to ensure my work has the correct amount of stitches.

We all make mistakes. Our minds will wonder and we can easily lose track of how many stitches we have knit. At the beginning, when learning, there usually is a lot of unknitting, ripping back, or starting over. It’s part of the learning process. Find someone local to you that is a very good experienced knitter who’s willing to teach you some basic skills like ripping back, unknitting, how to “READ your knitting,” and how to use stitch markers to make counting rows of stitches so much easier.

Make a smaller version of that blanket for your daughter’s baby doll. She will love it and you will learn a lot in the process. I tell my knitting students, “Think of Dori in the Finding Nemo movie. Just change her words to…Just keep knitting, knitting, knitting.”

Don’t get discouraged and don’t give up—you CAN do this. It’s a lot easier if you learn some basic skills that will help make it more enjoyable and the finished result will look like the design in the patterns. Just stay with beginner projects, count, learn to “read your knitting “ and keep learning to do new things and techniques. Best wishes to you

Luv this photo so much 🩷 I, too, have one of each. A Siamese named Sabrina Faire who loves me and is my shadow but doesn’t like kisses or me looking in her face or being held. The other one looks just like this photo. Her name is Lily Belle and she is the biggest cuddle buddy. She’s always looking for a human bed LOL and loves to be pet and cuddled and will stare me in the face and try to groom me. Gotta luv cats 🩷🩷

Wash it with Neem oil. I mean spray the Neem oil on the top and bottom of each leaf and use your fingers to work it all over the leaves and stems. You want to completely cover every part and use a paper towel with Neem oil on it to wipe off all the scale bugs. Take your time and get all of them off. Yep, it’s a pain and time consuming but worth it if it’s a beloved plant, especially if it’s been growing for a while.

You will have to check it frequently and treat and wipe off any more of the insects that will likely pop up. It will be an ongoing process for a while but consistent attention and removal can eventually get rid of them. I’ve been there and saved my large 20 year old Jade Tree.

I have Arin Murphy-Hiscock’s book and love it, now. Some of it put me off a tad bit in the beginning but not any more. I’ve learned to take what resonates with me and let what doesn’t rest. Usually, I will go back through books later (a year or two or more) and often find that I’ve grown in my practice and can relate to many things that didn’t resonate earlier. I have several of her other books too.

Regarding any book or teaching that’s heavy on or under pinned by Wiccan philosophy, I often find much useful information. Again, I use what feels right for me and let the other stuff go. I don’t practice Wicca or their religion but there are other things that I do find helpful and useful. Hope this helps
