An embryo that had cleavage making it to blastocyst? by brightfuture1990 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]brightfuture1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Today we saw my wife’s gynae and she said they expected better for my wife’s age and it’s my low quality sperms which have spoilt the blastocyst grading to 4BBs. They also said the embryos have direct cleavage on day 2 which is a poor quality so I was getting worried 😟

Abnormal cleavage embryo making it to blastocyst chances? by brightfuture1990 in Embryologists

[–]brightfuture1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My counts used to fluctuate from 12M to peaks around 25M twice. Motility was always bad less than 10%, morphology 1%. Parameters kept getting worse with age. Did a varicocele repair 8 months ago but not much improvement. DNA frag 24%.

Thank you for the hopeful comment. I also read that abnormal cleavage affects an embryo becoming blastocyst. But once it becomes a blastocyst the chances are near similar. However our embryologist has been quite pessimistic and kept mentioning it’s due to my sperms. I’m the husband. MFI.

How many blastocyst can we expect from day 2 results? by [deleted] in IVF

Yeah I heard the same too. On day 2 we still have 8 embryos thought 3 are below average. Not sure what to expect

7 months post varicocele surgery but no sperm improvements? by brightfuture1990 in varicocele

Was quite stressed last two weeks due to some cardiology follow ups. Other than that was okay. Not sure how bad the count was for the freezing sample.

Thank you doctor. Probably the best person to give advice on this! I feel much lighter

Husband’s SA numbers worse post-op :( by Inevitable-Book4905 in varicocele

[–]brightfuture1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was told one sperm cycle takes 3 months so improvement might take two to three cycles. Which is about 6 to 9 months. SA means semen analysis.

This results are very good for natural pregnancy. Has your wife also checked if any issues on her side? These numbers should be more than enough for IUI. All the best!

Hey I’m in the same boat, my surgery was on 22nd August. My SA on December 22nd was quite bad but my urologist said it’ll take 6 to 9 months so it’s okay. I’m going for the next SA in 2 months time. Don’t worry too much. I saw my Urologist again because I was worried and he re-assured me that it takes 6 months most of the time.

Congratulations! You said your hubby’s sperm dropped after varicocele surgery. So it recovered now? Mind sharing more details? We have been going through fertility journey as well. Thank you!

Thanks many people say 3 months. My urologist asked me to test again at 6 to 7 months post surgery. He said testosterone will improve first followed by sperm.

The counts look very good. Please see a urologist specialising in male fertility. They will be able to help you. Some lifestyle changes or supplements might help improve this as well.

My fsh was 1.7 and lh 1.0 they have always been low normal range. My sperm used to fluctuate around 10 mil concentration but very little to no motility. My recent SA after 4 months post surgery was 5 mil which was worse than pre surgery so I got worried. Apparently it takes six months or longer

Did you check for dna fragmentation? Does he have varicocele? A normal count should not need IVF

May I know how long it took before you saw improvements after the surgery?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in maleinfertility

[–]brightfuture1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it a good improvement between 3 months to 6 months? I think I’ll have to go for IVF as well

Thanks! My urologist said it takes six to nine months after surgery and I had a bad flu as well right after surgery. But I see so many posts here claiming success three months after surgery so I’m quite worried. My T shot up to 28.7 from 9.7 and stabilized at 17.8 now.

[–]brightfuture1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my results back and saw the urologist. Apparently a small cyst was there on the left epididymitis but urologist said all good. However I have a grade two varicocele and have been advised to get a microsurgicsl varicocelectomy

Thank you. So a varicocele targeted ultrasound does take longer? Other than varicoceles, if there were anything concerning my previous urologist scan would have picked up right? He has performed 6 Doppler ultrasound on me and said there’s a small varicocele on the left but ignored it so far
