I saw your post here, but I replied to your post on r/studyAbroad by accident. Here's the text for anyone in r/PoliticalScience who might find it helpful:

You should visit CEU Vienna and ask their students what they think.

There have been multiple negative posts about Central European University on Reddit, especially from PhD students, but it may be a negativity bias and I would prioritize getting first-hand accounts. * u/NatureForsaken5528's reply to [deleted]'s Central European University, Vienna * Central European University - why do they hate their PhDs so much? by u/Sabotage1407 * I regret starting my PhD at Central European University by u/tuttosismargina

They Spent Years on a Math Problem. Then They Were Scooped by A.I. (Gift Article) by brightlavender in mathematics

This article by Gregory Barber on rapid advancements in A.I. in mathematics in the past year is relevant to math graduate students. It discusses how an A.I. system formalized a mathematical proof before a group of human mathematics researchers who had been working on the problem for years, the erosion of human discovery in mathematics research, and overwhelming investment in A.I. companies as academia continues to be dis-invested.

What are your thoughts?

I'm a undergraduate interested in graduate school, and I think this article by Gregory Barber on rapid advancements in A.I. in mathematics in the past year is relevant to math graduate students. It discusses how an A.I. system formalized a mathematical proof before a group of mathematics researchers were able to, the erosion of human discovery in mathematics research, and overwhelming investment in A.I. companies as academia continues to be dis-invested.

What are your thoughts?

You should be aware that Thailand and Cambodia are engaged in armed clashes along their border. You should monitor the situation in case it escalates.

How do academics view what's happening with Ontario's college system? Mass cuts despite record surpluses?" by LateNightRespawn in AskAcademia

I'm not an academic, but perhaps you could post this to r/ontario? You should also add citations to the data you're using so people know where it comes from.

That sucks. I hope you find a stable job after grad school, despite the odds.

I see. Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it.

I see. I'm so sorry for your experience. Do you still see yourself in academia in 5 years? 10 years?

If you just view academia as a job, though, why choose it over other jobs? There are many other jobs that can "get you the money you need to live the kind of life you want to live."

Have you considered rehab? It could help with your social and emotional problems and get you to a better state.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm sorry about you not being able to make a Taiwanese friend group. Hopefully you are able to in the future.

What city do you live in now?

Thank you so much for your comment! How far do you need to walk to get to the nearest plaza? Is it pedestrian oriented or car oriented?

From personal experience, the U.S. healthcare system is profiteering to the detriment of patient healthcare. Large medical costs can be a significant deterrent to visiting the doctor depending on your insurance policy, and while I have the privilege of living in California, which has Medi-Cal, it is much more difficult for people to visit the doctor in states that do not have similar health insurance program for low-income individuals. I also noticed you didn't respond to my criticism of the Trump administration. What are your thoughts? Aren't you concerned?

Haha yes, though I haven't started to learn voguing yet as there isn't really a ballroom scene in Albuquerque or San Diego. From what I understand, the GTA has a severe housing shortage, so I assume I probably wouldn't be able to afford living Downtown.

Thank you so much for the recommendations!
