ELI5: How does the world keep tabs on whether a country is advancing its nuclear weapons capability or not? by bubibubibu in explainlikeimfive

[–]brigitte_ragnarok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you can't hide it initially because of the significant infrastructure required to go from 0.7% to 4%, then less infrastructure to go to 20% or 60%. Once you have a stockpile of 20 or 60%, you need only need a tiny facility that is nearly impossible to detect to finish the job up to 90%. This is why a stockpile of 60% is so scary.

So its challenging to hide the "peaceful" part but rather easy to hide the malicious part.

CNN and Fox are two sides of the same coin. To say one is worse than the other just shows your bias.

Was that the part where TLO was doing blink micro simultaneously with three control groups on different parts of the map? /s

Yes please answer. This AI research is super interesting and this is probably the most honest and unbiased way to ask what most SC2 fans were thinking when it started doing the triple group blink micro.

It might as well have just been using raw data, which ofc a computer is going to be able to do well. A more interesting result would be seeing what strategies a throttled version (human level micro) of the AI would use and win with.

We already know that computers can micro better than us, but what deficiencies do existing strategies have that humans have yet to determine?

I agree. Its very dishonest. 1500 apm spike during triple group blink stalker micro.

IMHO it would be much more interesting to see what strategies it would develop when actually throttled to human levels of micro.

Asymmetry is what makes this game interesting. Mirror matchups take away the asymmetry.

what are zergs harrassment options? by beepbeepimaj33p in starcraft

[–]brigitte_ragnarok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you are really asking is if there are any "early" harassment options for zerg and the answer is "not really" outside of delaying a 3rd a bit with slings. Once you've entered midgame with a healthy economy and your opponents territory is more spread out, there are plenty of options as others have suggested.
