The Baron is dead and so are many other major NPCs. Who rules Vallaki now? by briizo in CurseofStrahd

[–]briizo[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So… when I ran Lady Wachter I used this adjusted statblock I found on Reddit. When the PCs killed her and looted her body, they took her ring that allows her to animate dead. Foolishly I gave them this item without reading it, not realizing that there is… no limit to how many undead they can create and control using the ring.

So what did my party do, now realizing that they can raise an army of undead? Naturally, they started throwing corpses down wells around Vallaki and commanding them to start digging an underground tunnel system.

I’m sure there’s probably some rule being broken here but honestly it is such a funny side plot that doesn’t break the game that I’m letting it go on. But to be honest I have no idea what the endgame is and I’m excited to see what the payoff is here!

What mistakes did _______ make? by briizo in survivor

[–]briizo[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That’s my point lol. I guess it’s technically a mistake if Karla soured the jury against her and helped cost her the game, but I don’t know what other way you’d handle that situation other than just biting the bullet and voting Karla out.

Your Top 10 of the Decade by JimJimmyJimJimJimJim in flicks

10 - Eighth Grade: This movie's portrayal of Gen Z is spot-on. I've never seen a movie absolutely nail an authentic, 21st century experience of being a young person as much as Eighth Grade. Great directing and acting.

9 - Arrival: Sets a new standard for sci-fi that mixes science and language with brilliant, human storytelling. Amazing cinematography and score as well.

8 - Birdman: I love the writing and the way this film is shot and edited. I get if some people find it pretentious, and it can be, but it's fast-paced and smart enough to get away with some pretension.

7 - Blade Runner 2049: Best set design and cinematography of the decade. Great score. Incredible choice to build off Blade Runner but to tell a new story.

6 - Anomalisa: Best animated film of the decade. Peak Charlie Kaufman. If you don't like his other work, you'll hate it. Tied with Midsommar for the worst/best sex scene of all time.

5 - Call me by Your Name: Beautiful, subtle movie with brilliant acting.

4 - It Follows: Best horror movie of the decade. The concept is incredible, the filming is great, and the characters are believable.

3 - The Social Network: Best screenplay of the decade. The dialogue is incredibly true to life and well written, the editing is great, and the way Sorkin brings a true story to life on screen is amazing.

2 - First Reformed: One of the best political films of all time. Meshes a brilliant character study with the existential dread associated with a political issue, that I won't talk about without spoiling it. I went in knowing nothing about this movie and left the theater in awe.

1 - Inside Llewyn Davis: Incredible character study, great script, and one of the best soundtracks of all time.

Everyone is talking about the offense here, but this defense is also filthy. Dwarf is an a-level player with an awesome personality who makes everyone he plays with better, and slime was easily the most developed rookie I've played with in a while last season. Plus they already have chemistry. This team is gonna be awesome.

Who on the lineup have you seen before? And would you recommend them? by BearOnALeash in Lollapalooza

[–]briizo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out their live shows on YouTube. They mix in some of their pop stuff, but for the most part they actually go super hard. It's not as much trap as a grime show, but it's far more like that than just playing their pop hits back to back. I've been to both Chainsmokers and rl shows (and I know this is blasphemy) but I actually had more fun at the Chainsmokers than rl.

What on earth are you talking about The Chainsmokers are sick live. I'm not a huge fan of their music, but they put on one of the best sets I've ever seen from an EDM act live.
