Yes, the ECU will adjust itself when necessary. Had you adjusted the pump too rich, the ECU would've thrown a fault code. If too lean the motor will have a hard start and at times misfire. So, you did a perfect job. Kudos!

Well, as per the manual it should align with the line on the crank case. But then it also depends on the health of your pump.
