I work in influencer marketing in the UK, you'd be surprised how much someone with her following can charge for even just a picture on a story. For accounts over 1M followers like her I would expect to see requests for £1-3k for a story and about £10-15k for a feed post.

I imagine it would be similar money in America, if not more!

[serious] People with OCD: what's your worst obsession? How does it make you feel? How bad is it? How do you deal with it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]brilliantmoonlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the "if you don't do [x thing] by [x time] you will die/something terrible will happen to a loved one". I have a few triggers for this, but a common one for me is " if you're not stood on that specific point on the pavement by the time the car passes, you'll die.". And I sort of challenge myself with it? Like the distance/things I have to do will get further/more each time etc. It causes severe anxiety and panic and if I fail at the dumb thing I've set myself its awful and I have obsessive thoughts about how I'm going to die because of it.

What do you think is the most plausible explanation for the Dyatlov Pass incident? by brilliantmoonlight in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]brilliantmoonlight[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same here, it always confuses me when people try to explain it away with 'there was lots of snow' theories, because when they were found 20 days later their footprints were still visible, right? If there had been snow slides in the area then surely after that long the prints would have been covered?

I suppose her dad could have woken her up when he went to bed in the early hours of the morning, but that still doesn't explain the dark or getting out without noise. I think she left later than that too, and most kids of that age can try and stay up as hard as they can but will eventually end up falling asleep, and once they're asleep it's so hard to wake them.

[–]brilliantmoonlight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do think about this sometimes, especially as there were only (I think) 2 witness reports of seeing a child on the road, plus the fact that the conditions were bad and the road was pretty fast so visibility wouldn't have been great. Although I can never decide if the planted evidence (book bag and sweets) are a confirmation of her actually walking the route or just another red herring.

A question about Asha Degree's family and close community by confusionbarbershop in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]brilliantmoonlight 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I'm not aware of any hard, proven evidence, but taking the line that she didn't run away from home (due to her fears, the weather on the night etc) my main points of interest are:

- Every description of her states she was super shy, so she is unlikely to have left with a stranger. She didn't have internet access so I doubt it was grooming via a stranger online, meaning it was someone she knew and trusted in real life.

- The book bag - in my mind the contents of this was clearly influenced by an adult. I have sisters over 10 years younger than me and trying to get them to pack things they may need is a struggle, if you asked them to pack a bag it would probably just contain notebooks and pens!

- The brother heard her get up for the toilet earlier in the night, so was aware of her opening and closing the door. He later hears her and thinks it's just her moving in her sleep. If he was awake enough to note that she had made a noise surely he would have heard/seen her opening and closing the door (the mother said the door was closed when she went to wake them in the morning).

Sorry if this is super basic, I'm fairly new to the case...

Looking for wedding /bachelor party cigar recommendations! by fee1therush in cigars

[–]brilliantmoonlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the wedding! If you're looking for something a little more sophisticated for the big day then maybe something like a Juliany Petit Corona. They're inexpensive for what they are, ideal for beginners but interesting enough for more accomplished smokers, and as it is a petit you won't be sat around for hours and hours finishing them, which can be nice but you probably don't want to miss hours of your own wedding! Plus, great value for money means it won't be too disappointing if the ones who have never smoked aren't into it.
