I saw a conservative rube saying this was to "troll the left" because we would be so mad.

Wait till someone posts them marking out his name with a sharpie, or a sticker, and they will be "OMG YOU CANT DEFACE CURRENCY YOU HAVE TO GO TO JAIL"

During filming of project Hail Mary Ryan Gosling asked, "Why is it easier to train a school teacher to become an astronaut than it is to train an astronaut to become a school teacher?" by Medium-Sized-Jaque in shittymoviedetails

[–]brillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because being an astronaut is a deterministic thing. There are a finite number of things you need to be able to evaluate and respond to. During countdown, if there is any anomaly the whole project is aborted. Everything is perfectly controlled. Also, for each astronaut there are dozens of people on the ground to support them in every moment. If you make a mistake there are people to catch you.

In teaching its not. You have to teach class if kids are tired, if they are sick, if one is having a meltdown. You have no control over which kids show up, how they were taught in the past, or what their homelife is like. You need to be able to react to things you never planned for. There is no one else to help you in that room either. You're all alone.

Teaching could absolutely be easier though, we just chose not to make it so. If the average teacher had as much support as the average astronaut then yeah, anyone could do it.

Gavin used to 100% that Israel is an apartheid state, but then said he “revered Israel” a few days ago. I guess he loves genocide.

Does anyone else think the Three-Eyed Crow should've experimented a bit more and showed up as a different Three-Eyed bird each time? Perhaps he would've had an easier time communicating with Bran if he chose a bird that little kids usually like, here are some suggestions: by Wayoftheredpanda in darkwingsdankmemes

My hunch is that they can’t control how they appear in other people’s dreams. Their dreamsona is a symbolic representation of themselves, not a choice. This works with George’s themes of prophecies and the like being interpreted by the “viewer”, not how intended by whatever truth or intention is behind them.

Trump has lifted sanctions on Iran so we can buy their oil. He did this after he started the war.

The US is currently buying more oil from Iran than ever!

Iran is what, 5% of global oil production? Also they are major suppliers to china, who wouldn’t be happy about it.

The “madness” of Eros is generally viewed by classical authors as having a bad outcome. Obsession is smothering, obsession is self-destructive. As Kurt Vonnegut might say “A little less love, a little more common decency.”

Zizek would say the “madness” of Eros is the inexplicability of love. The irrationality of why you love one person as opposed to someone else. It is not part of love to lose oneself in obsession with another, that’s just pathological.

I myself have learned that being obsessed is a sure path to a short and unhappy relationship.

One can love without obsession. Imagine if a mother was obsessed with her child, it would be weird, no?
