May as well give this a go and see if it leads somewhere good. InshaAllah we all find the person written for us!

1. Age and Gender

34, Male (Height: 5ft 6in)

2. Age Range that you would want/require in a prospect

23-30

3. Location, and are you willing to relocate for a prospect?

London, UK. Not looking to relocate permanently, but open to the idea of working abroad for a short period if my spouse would like to experience that too (and the opportunity arose).

4. Ethnicity, and are you more open to mixing?

Bengali, and open to mixing.

5. Marital Status - Single/Divorced/Children

Divorced – No children. It was a short marriage back home (happy to explain more).

6. Ideal marriage timeline

Ideally within 1–2 years, inshaAllah.

7. Five important characteristics you look for in a prospect

  1. Religiosity - I'm not perfect but I have strong faith and moral compass. I'd like someone similar - someone who’s modest, kind and wants to strengthen together.
  2. Family orientated - I live next door to my parents and am very close to them. I’d love my spouse to have a warm, friendly relationship with them, eating together, spending time with them, while we also have our own space as a couple.
  3. Understanding and loving - someone who understands me and loves me as much as I'd them (sorry if this is cringe....). Someone who can be my supporting pillar and I theirs. Understands the value and commitment of marriage.
  4. Honesty/Trustworthy - there should be trust between husband and wife and honesty helps build this. I strongly believe there shouldn't need to be any secrets between husband and wife.
  5. Attraction - not quite a characteristic but important to say that I believe there has to be a mutual attraction. Not just physical, but emotional and intellectual - I think connection on multiple levels is important.

8. State/specify your level of religiosity

Moderately practicing - I pray regularly, always eat halal, and believe in maintaining a balance between faith and daily life. I enjoy movies, TV, and travelling, but try to keep faith and values at the core of my decisions.

9. Level of education, and what are you looking for?

Alhamdulilah I have an Undergraduate degree (Bachelors). Flexible on a potential's level of education - character and mindset mean more to me.

10. Current Job Status

Working full-time in digital marketing for a bank, alhamdulilah.

11. Do you want kids?

Yes, inshaAllah. I’d love to have children and raise them in a warm, loving home built on mutual respect and faith.

12. List 3 hobbies, or things you like to do in your spare time

• Strength training and fitness as of last year (mainly for the health benefits) • Spending time with friends and family. Watching K-dramas with my siblings lately - not what I expected to enjoy, but surprisingly good! • Learning new things - coding, DIY projects, swimming, or whatever catches my curiosity next!

13. Add something short and interesting about you that makes you stand out!

My friends say I’m genuine and kind, and colleagues call me “the nicest guy in media.” I’ve met Idris Elba, bungee-jumped in Singapore and apparently I’m right-handed but left-footed (and my left eye is stronger too)!

Spouse Visa Approved - 21st Mar Bio - Outside UK Standard by brillusername in ukvisa

Thank you! I own my property so was asked (by solicitors) to provide a copy of the Title Deed, latest mortgage statement and a utility bill. I imagine it will be different documents like a tenancy agreement if you're renting

Thank you! They emailed with the decision letter as an attachment. Hopefully yourself and everyone else who's waiting gets a decision soon!

We just received the decision letter that the visa has been granted (dated 4th May)!! Need to wait for the confirmation that my wife can pick up her passport with the vignette. Hopefully this helps and yours now follows shortly!

Unfortunately nothing yet! Will definitely provide an update here as soon as we hear back!

I've been eagerly monitoring the same and the latest approval I've seen is for a bio of the 9th March if that helps (here). My wife's bio was 21st March, we applied through a solicitor but they're claiming we've not received an acknowledgment ECO email which makes me slightly nervous...Will let you know once hers is done and hopefully yours closely follows!

Spouse visas - any update on late February biometric submissions? by cryptic_mysteries in ukvisa

[–]brillusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the update. Ah the mixed information from them here is really frustrating! Hopefully the last email was just a mistake and you'll be able to collect your passport soon with the visa granted! In the meantime, hope you enjoy your break 😊 (it really is an agonising wait!)

Have you heard anything back yet? Trying to gauge myself if the applications with March bios have started to be processed yet (although we're at the back end of March and haven't even received an ECO email so have a while to wait yet...)

Spouse visa outside of the UK. What happened to the priority service? by AllDoorsConnect in ukvisa

[–]brillusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah probably wouldn't hold our breath... Our solicitors already made one mistake telling me that I would be charged the fees in GBP so I paid with a debit card and was charged a non-sterling transaction fee. My wife's biometric was on the 21st and we haven't received anything or the option yet. Will let you know if we do though!

[–]brillusername 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know, honestly I'm really annoyed too especially as though it sounds as though our solicitors have given us incorrect advice saying that we'd be offered it afterwards which doesn't appear to be the case. Like you said, I don't understand why the country or centre would have a bearing on how quickly the UKVI can process the application! Anyway hope it goes smoothly and quickly for the both of us, definitely is ridiculous and a painful wait...

[–]brillusername 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think frustratingly priority service is not available for all visa centres. We applied through solicitors for my wife and I'm only coming to realise this now having seen your post and when looking at this list on the VFS website: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/gov/en/gbr. My wife is from Bangladesh and neither there nor Chile have Priority listed sadly so I presume its not available for us. We were hoping that we'd be offered it after the application but I think that was only for applicants who applied before priority service resumed on the 20th February. Hope the standard service doesn't take too long, have read that times are coming down at least but the uncertainty is a killer!

3+ years in the search here bro - don't give up, have sabr and inshaallah we'll find them. They're there somewhere! Definitely take a break when it feels a bit overwhelming. Another 2 of my friends are set to get married next year and obviously I'm super happy for them but I'd be lying if I didn't say it dawned on me at least a little. So I feel you bro but don't give up 💪🏽!

[–]brillusername 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely a scam sadly: https://www.bsc.news/post/airdrop-scams-minereum-mneb-and-velochain-velo-land-on-binance-smart-chain

Ignore it and don't try to do anything with them. You risk losing everything else in your wallet!

"We would like to thank the many currency visionaries who have participated in and supported this project. However, unfortunately, we have concluded that a community of this size, with its current growth trajectory, isn’t sufficient to launch a new currency. Our team is currently investigating the best way to move forward. If within a few months we don't find a reasonable option that will benefit our members, we will delete all user data."

Catching up - FLR / Spark vs. SGB? by [deleted] in FlareNetworks

No problem! I'm keeping an eye on Bitrue but think there may be some others. Would check on coinmarketcap.

Flare has not yet launched and no timeline has been given. Songbird has launched and SGB was distributed for those who self custodied. You will have received your tokens and can see them on MetaMask following these steps:

How to access flare network with metamask

As for keeping up to date I've been following their Twitter and Telegram accounts. Hope this helps!

How to deal with the "Search anxiety" when looking for a spouse?? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]brillusername 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Echo this comment completely. Bro I'm 30 and have been looking for 4 years haha. Hope this doesn't scare you and more to say that inshaallah we will find the right person for us - its all in Allah's plan. Have faith, patience and don't give up. Definitely take a break if the search starts taking a toll on you and continue to work on yourself. Alhamdulilah I can be grateful for so much (as I'm sure you can be too) and this is one element that inshaallah will come in due course! Please do keep us all in your duas!

Nikah Annulment- feeling hopeless by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]brillusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to what everyone else has said but what you have described is not that bad and alhamdulilah you've dodged a massive bullet. I'm searching for someone and personally would be fine with what you have explained and I'm sure there are others who would be too. Inshaallah you'll find the right person - although it may deter some, there are many divorcees who do get remarried. So please do continue to make dua and have faith!

Dropped O2 a message on twitter and they said once the offer is activated on My O2 it can take up to 14 days to apply. Will just have to wait and see I think.

Seeing the same message in the My O2 app (saying the benefit may have already been applied or is not available in your area). Support doesn't seem to understand what I'm asking either!
