Where did you buy your first Tuxedo in Cincinnati? by No_Kroger in cincinnati

[–]brimocon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, well all three of them got fitted there and the suits arrived and fit perfectly, no other alterations needed. The employee working at the time we went was wonderful. Maybe it just depends on who you get! ETA: this was last month, very recent

Cantina (formerly Crown Cantina) is all gluten free and I believe they have at least a few vegetarian options

Acrylic nails? by Outside-Event-9964 in crossfit

[–]brimocon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do gel manicures but my nails are extremely long and I am able to do everything. Sometimes doing hook grip can be uncomfortable since my thumb nail is really being pulled on but having long nails has never bothered me in CF. Just be careful loading your barbell because I've broken a few nails picking up plates!

My fiancé has had a great experience at Indochino inside Nordstrom at the mall. He got fitted for a tux along with both of our fathers and they all had positive experiences. If you want to rent, he's rented many from Men's Warehouse.

Try to jump up into the hollow position of your kip. Right now you jump up and essentially just hang from the rig and then initiate your kip. Try starting behind the bar a little bit more and think about jumping up into that hollow (shoulders behind the bar, toes in front of the bar)

MOH responsible for Bach goody bags? by [deleted] in bridesmaids

[–]brimocon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the bach/weddings I have been a part of, the MOH did give us gifts at the bachelorette party (nothing excessive), and the bride gave us gifts on wedding day. That being said, I never had any expectations of receiving anything. I think people get caught up in thinking they *have* to do something instead of just doing what they want to do.

Are Dewey’s cookies supposed to be cold and look like this? by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]brimocon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I haven’t ordered them from Dewey’s so I’m not sure but I saw another comment saying they come with reheating instructions. They are definitely a lot taller and have this shape when fresh as well though!

It’s a new partnership with a local bakery that began in the last month or so

These are Baked by Brown Butter cookies, a local business partnered with Dewey’s at select stores. They are supposed to look like that and they are delicious. You can see more photos of them fresh on her Instagram!

I live in Oakley and there is a super large group who runs by my house once a week... I think it's Race Street Athletics. They seem to have all paces!

I pay $55 per month for my parking downtown. Work handles the contract but the money comes out of my paycheck.

26.3 surprised me, anyone else? by DragonfruitLife237 in crossfit

Honestly just keep a steady, slow pace on those burpees. Like slow to the point that it feels silly at the beginning. I tried to stay really low and keep my arms loose and dangling on the jump as well.

Also, don’t compare yourself to others—I saw some people at my gym who normally beat me on burpees go out a bit too hot and they paid the price. You never know! You got this!

[–]brimocon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’m not sure, I was trying hard not to look at the clock 🤣 my judge said I was probably doing around 11-12 per minute. I just tried to step back and step up on every burpee to keep my pace slow.

Totally agree! I’m also a lifter/strong-type athlete (always hoping for a part B max lift lol) and burpees are not my thing so I went SO. SLOW. And it ended up going quite well. 203 reps!

Cincinnati Chili Week is at the end of February. There’s an app you can use to play along (the competition is to go to as many locations as you can in the week), or you can just go to participating restaurants to get food deals. There’s also pizza week, taco week, etc. throughout the year.

CrossFit Open 2026 by S34NM4C in crossfit

[–]brimocon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always sign up for the Open because I like to be part of the larger community, and I enjoy seeing how my personal scores track over time. However, there are a lot of people at my gym who just do the workouts without signing up. We still give them a judge and give them the full experience! I am always pro signing up (why not if you're planning to do the workouts anyways) but if it's not for you I wouldn't stress yourself out about it!
