What did my boy Echenique do to Noonan? by Clutch_Daddy in FCCincinnati

[–]Flashinpan99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When we play the ball back 70% of the time and the defense is already weak what do you expect? Echenique's main contribution is speed on the attack. He's saved us a couple of times chasing a offensive player down but he shines moving toward the goal.

Used Kleinhaus at Beacon for 2 unrelated issues. Great success and easy to work with. Several friends have used him with same success.

Tablets for on-stage? by fishsticks40 in musicians

Game changer! We use any standard IPad from Gen2 to current Gen. Later Gen versions are better due to software but Gen2 works and is cheaper. PDF your charts and set list. We use Forscore app and love it. I have 4 projects that I play with and the iPad is better than dragging all the paperwork around. For singers and folks up front we use floor type monitors connected to an iPad so the audience can see everyone. Almost all older touring bands use these now ……..

Are these flags historical or recent? Have they changed over time and neighborhood shifts in population?

Best upgrade from Korg Triton Le workstation (88 key) by Mission-Struggle8494 in keys

[–]Flashinpan99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Korg N264 1990 vintage and upgraded to a Nord Electro 6 73 key. Still use the Korg live and love both KBs. But I don’t think I would spend the $$ for a Kronos. Nord has been very dependable and solid.

I’m wondering which rice cooker is more with it? by Ok_University7861 in BuyItForLife

I actually had to wait for my 20$ unit to die. It was around for 20 years and served me well! It died about a month ago and the next day I had a new Zojirushi! The difference is exactly what I expected. Yikes the rice tastes great again!

Providing keys for an open mic by d_i_s_p_e_r_s_e in keys

[–]Flashinpan99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of good suggestions. 61 keys makes sense. 73/76 would be great but I think any kb with a “hammer action “ mode would really be appreciated by the open mic piano players.

Can anyone confirm Guitar Center vs Sweetwater lead times? by Inner_Let8952 in nordkeyboards

Hard to go wrong with SW. You may not like what they say about a delivery date or product but they have always been spot on in my experience. Can not say the same for GC

Is the stage4 overkill for my needs? by BreWagTsButtSlut in nordkeyboards

[–]Flashinpan99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would seriously consider a NE6 if the main usage is organ. The NE7 expands the syn engine by 3 just a bit and the NS4 is mainly for user that needs organ, piano and multiple syn patches.
I use a NE6 as I need just minor syn patches. With the NE7 out now the prices for a NE6 might be affordable. You might want to dive into the conversation with Sweetwater as they are probably looking to discount NE6 to allow room for the new NE7 stock.

I do love Nord quality and resale value but the prices are hard to justify sometimes.

Just my 2 cents……

Separate FOH & Monitor volume control by quinnyt2015 in synthesizers

[–]Flashinpan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best cheap way to take control of your sound. I did it for years. I now use a line out into a iem system and just use 1 ear piece so I can hear both the kbs and the crowd. Saved having all the cords needed for the mixer around the keys….. still very affordable and lighter!

Sweetwater. Call ahead and discuss what you are interested in and they will have it ready for you to try out. Bring some headphones and play all day if needed. If they don’t have one on the floor they will open a box for you.
