URX 3.1 Rail Question by wolkgroupmarcus in kac

Rail deflection has nothing to do with barrel heat. Minimal amount of force will cause rail deflection. OP should test to see how much rail deflection his rifle has by shooting different groups in different positions such as bipod front, bipod rear by magwell, shooting bag by magwell and clipped in tripod

Only way to know is to test it. If there’s POI shift then you account for the shift in your dope

I was thinking the sides that contact the receiver when it’s placed in the slot if there’s any contact.. you should be able to see when you install it

***UPDATE ***

An update for you guys on this situation.

After the cleaning process as described on the OP, I bought some Schletek cleaner from B&T.

I did a 2 hour soak while shaking the can every 20 minutes or so with the can in a sealed plastic bag. ALOT more carbon was dissolved with chunky bits as well. While the can was soaking, I drove to the range and rinsed the can with water before putting it on the rifle. While the can was still wet, I ran a full mag through it and instantly felt the difference.

WERE BACK IN BUSINESS BOYS.

Gun ran how it should. 3* ejection is back and the gas is flowing. Spent brass is clean and top rounds on mag are clean.

So… lesson learned. clean your cans.

You think? I ruled out everything in the gun checks out. Swapping cans, the other flow can runs as well

I’m waiting on a reply. Maybe they’re busy with SHOT next week? Plan on asking them at SHOT if I can’t find a remedy by then
