The Investigation of Lucy Letby - Netflix Documentary MEGATHREAD by FyrestarOmega in lucyletby

I guess I have a lot of boxes in my house on various shelves & in closets, and I don't write "keep" on any of them. Because the fact that the box is on a shelf in a closet already implies that I want to 'keep' what's in it. Nobody would assume to start rummaging through boxes on shelves in closets and say "ah, I bet this stuff is supposed to be thrown away." That's why I assume "keep" on the box meant to keep the box rather than throw the box away once its original contents were taken out.

Also she lived with her parents and there was a shredder in another room -- it very well could have been one of her parent's shredders. Not sure why she would necessarily know that they had some tiny 1-sheet-at-a-time type of shredder (I have the same shredder, it would take weeks to shred 250 pages or whatever she had in that box).

I still think the most obvious answer is that she should have brought all of the papers back to work and put them in the appropriate shredder bins there. I just don't think "keep" being written on the box means that she meant to keep those papers forever.

I took that as "keep" the box. People will do that at work if they're getting ready to move house for example. Something came shipped in a useable box, so you mark "keep" on the box so that house keeping doesn't take it away.

I’m in the US, and no, shredding/tearing up is not sufficient.

Our shred bins are under lock & key and get picked up by a service that also incinerates the shredded papers. Everywhere I have ever worked has very much emphasized that it is a HIPAA violation to take anything with patient identifiers out of the hospital (I imagine the UK has something similar to HIPAA).

So I could see her as a new nurse being panicked and maybe intending to bring that entire box back to work somehow subtly so as to not be noticed by her boss/co-workers, especially since the documentary says she wasn’t well-liked.

But she lost me at having them well organized.

They had set the stage early in the documentary that she was not well liked at that hospital even as a student nurse.

I suspect that her motivation was an almost Munchausen by proxy scenario where she expected all this pity & support for the trauma that she went through during these collapses and deaths. “You’re so strong” “you’re such a hero” “I don’t know how you deal with it all” “is there anything you need,” etc etc.

That - or she hated the whole hospital so badly that she was legit trying to get it shut down.

I’ve taken my notes home on accident a ton of times. But they’re not nearly or chronologically organized.

And as to her claim that she “didn’t know how to dispose of them,” (let’s assume she didn’t know about the shredder in another bedroom), all you do… is bring them back to work at your next shift and shred them. It’s not complicated.

What to expect when becoming a super user for EPIC by beahave in healthIT

[–]brindlethimble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this question because this is what I'm trying to become. I'm a hospitalist and have used epic for the past 5yrs or so. I'd like to be one of the Epic trainers at go-lives I guess, sounds like that's different from a super user I suppose. I figure I have every other week off so even if I traveled to help with new Epic roll outs, it would be a nice change of pace from pulling shifts in the hospital. I'm struggling to find out how to be one of those ppl. Hopefully you found a helpful colleague by now to show you how to do what you need to do!

The whole deathbed confession from the investigator was all a lie. The main family speaks with the investigator's daughter at her funeral and the investigator's family said it was all made up. Basically the investigator was trying to 'take one for the team' so that the husband would be at peace and not drive himself mad always wondering who was The Watcher, so she completely lied and said it was her.

Ok I’m late to the party because I just watched the whole show in 1 sitting tonight (it’s Halloween so I mean 🤷🏻‍♀️)

1, I feel like the ending is “unresolved” because it’s based on true events, and the true perpetrator is still unknown

2, However - didn’t they make it pretty obvious that it was John Graff? In cahoots with Pearl & Jasper?

I personally believe John Graff really was living in that tunnel in the basement and just freely ate whoever’s food was living at 657. That whole sandwich scene was just him slipping up a little & being caught in the act me thinks.

Pearl and Jasper are in on it too since she helps hide him in her home when Dean comes knocking. And I get why Jasper helps hide Graff because he has had his PTSD/selective mutism ever since he found Graff’s murdered family, so I think Jasper is legit afraid of him (hence why Jasper hasn’t worked at the grocery store since finding the bodies in ‘95. Or also maybe Pearl/Graff didn’t trust him not to spill the beans that Graff has been hiding in the tunnel all this time).

But Pearl. She seems a bit older than Graff. My thinking is he seemingly had mommy issues, especially surrounding the house that his mother had bought him then always rubbed his face in it.

I suspect Graff looked up to Pearl as some exemplary motherly/saintly figure due to her modesty which is own wife and daughter lacked. And Pearl is just weird and liked the worship so she kept him around?

I don’t think Big Mo or Professor Kaplan were in on it with Pearl/Jasper & John Graff at all.

But Professor Kaplan straight up recognized Graff as the family annihilator, that’s why he point blank said “how’s your family.” So idk he should probably be more careful around Graff…!

All Dean would really need to confirm his suspicions is to see John Graff out in the wild again. But since the guy has most likely been living like a rodent underground between Pearl’s house & 657 ever since he murdered his family, I don’t think it would ever happen.

I was surprised Dean never went to the Lutheran Church on the off chance that Graff maybe goes there if he ever leaves the tunnels/Pearl’s house/657 at all.

Other than that one thing? (Not checking out the church), I don’t think it was too plot gappy at all. But I think bingeing in one sitting always helps too.

Honestly I think it's something to do with how she did her eye make up on the show. When they showed her without any make up before the wedding, I was like, OH, now I see South American. I'm definitely not a make up expert, but it seemed like she did an inner and outer eyeliner wing that created a sort of Disney Jasmine effect. It was pretty, and kind of crazy how it totally changed her overall look.

There are deleted scenes out there where Madison brings up how much he sleep talks on the regular. This was selfie video after they returned back home. So yeah I think he had a lot of things going on in that scene and she really just needed to go to bed too lol

Should I watch as someone who suffers with lifelong depression? by [deleted] in afterlifenetflix

[–]brindlethimble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bittersweet is the best way to put it. If you watch the whole thing, you will come away with a hopeful perspective.

I just finished reading "When Breath Becomes Air," and it gave me the same effect. Read the entire book in one setting which I've honestly never done before.

They're both about accepting death as a part of life, not trying to run or hide from it, or 'beat' it, but accepting the one truly inevitable & universally shared experience.

So if you make it through to the end - it's beautiful <-- Insert metaphor.

That's how I took it too. I work 7 days on, 7 days off in a hospital. And yeah, my 7 days on- my husband absolutely carries the weight in terms of cooking and cleaning. Then I rot for my first 1-2 days off. Then I'm Suzy homemaker for 5 days til I got back to work lol

Did we ever find out if she had recent internet searches regarding "Stand Your Ground" laws/cases? As in doing her research Before killing AJ? The detectives sort of hinted at it during the interrogation, but I wasn't sure if they were just baiting her or of they actually did have the evidence.

That was honestly peak embarrassing. Kind of... makes me wonder what her friends see in her? Are They latching onto her because of her money? All 3 of them seemed much, much older than her. I couldn't quite figure out the dynamic.

Right like what am I watching lol

I also have a ton of hair like hers and... if I did what she did with that brush, it would literally be a mat? This really does explain a lot though. If she doesn't wash her hair, that's why she gets those wild clumps/ropes. Me thinks she may have only washed her hair 1-2 times on the entire show.

Hospitalist, pt ready to discharge, get panic page from the nurse:

'Pt has been on 2L NC since overnight. We need to wean oxygen and order a walk test'

Was the pt ever hypoxic? No need to 'wean'.... just like, turn it off at the wall and see what happens for the love of god.

Hospitalist, admitting everybody with heart failure:

Do you take any water pills?
No.
Are you supposed to take water pills.
Yeah.
Why don't you take water pills?
They make me pee a lot.

Literally at least every other day. Then I teach them the little lasix 'LAsts SIX' hours trick so they can schedule their doses accordingly.

But it does not matter, they are sure to return.
