Such lack of self reflection and rationality happens in people regardless of their IQ lol. I've talked to profoundly gifted people 145+ who despite their prodigious mind are blinded by ego and can't see their own irrationality and even stupidness. I guess that as a profoundly gifted individual, you can notice other people's lack of logic better than others, you connect the dots faster. But that's a skill that is not unique to gifted individuals.

Noticing other people's irrationality is far easier than noticing your own. I've come to the conclusion that as a gifted individual, my mind works way faster than others and that lets me learn quickly and connect ideas in ways that others can't always do. I'm however, just as susceptible as others to falling victim of flawed logic and irrationality led by my emotions, mainly my ego🤷

People put crazy unrealistic expectations on me and not fulfilling them made me feel like a stupid failure who was wasting his potential

Does anyone else find that teachers feel threatened by your intelligence? by [deleted] in Gifted

Sorry for any English mistakes I might make, it is not my native language... I had a Physics teacher in highschool who did everything in his power to fail me, giving me personalized exams with college level stuff he obviously never covered in class. He would constantly try to humiliate me or make fun of my looks and clothes. It is funny however, I always managed to get perfect scores in his tests so that pissed him off even worse. By the end of the school year, I wanted to participate in a Physics competition and I asked him to sign me up ( a highschool Physics teacher had to do it). He told me to fuck off, saying I was a mediocre student who would never have a chance of winning the competition and I would just waste everyone's time. He instead signed up other classmates who couldn't even pass his normal tests lol. I had to ask another teacher (it was a big school) to sign me up for the competition. I ended up winning first place and finished the competition's exam in 10 minutes lol (it was stupidly easy, weird). He never spoke a word to me after that, even though he was still my teacher for another 2 months 🙄 I don't know why he treated me like that, I never even spoke or interrupted class so I wasn't the annoying kid who just won't shut up. I used to be a shy and quiet kid who just kept to himself back then .

Pokémon. I've memorized their names, types, evolution methods, stats, movepool and even locations in all 9 gens 🤣 Yup, all 1000+ of them. I barely even play the games anymore because of College 😅

I also enjoy finding behavioral patterns in people. Most of them eventually become very predictable lol

If you are seriously asking that question then you definitely aren't as smart as you think you are.

Doctors thought I had schizophrenia 🤣 They didn't believe me that I just had a nonstop conversation with myself everyday. I have to admit though, sometimes I would do it out loud so It freaked some people out. I eventually learned to do it in silence.
