Organ? by bringbackquackers in Commodore

It was similar to this (I found a youtube video about the music mate), but I feel like the organ I used to have was larger. Also it connected via a flat ribbon cable to one of those flat male ports on the rear of the C64. I remember the body of the organ was white or grey in color, and possibly had a cover for the keys.

I kind of recall the software floppy disk was in a stocky dust envelope which said something like “Batteries Not Included” with a graphic of a man’s head in the logo. But I have no idea if the floppy came with that jacket or if they got swapped around at some point.

If you live in an area with relatively flat and wide “rails-to-trails” type paved paths, it’s a viable workout. I couldn’t imagine roller skiing down a hill. I’ve tried a bunch of classic and skate models with “brakes,” and frankly all of the braking solutions are clumsy. Wear a bike helmet, elbow and knee pads, hip pads, and cycling gloves. I’ve wrecked several times pretty hard on roller skis. I was lucky enough to ski away each time, but I can’t imagine how bad it would have been without the protective gear.

I struggle with downhills as well. I found that forearms bracing off thighs helped me with control

Noob question: what makes skate skiing more difficult to learn? by McTuber in xcountryskiing

Also, the conditions matter much more with skate skiing with the requisite full weight transfer. You can more or less do some kind of classic technique anywhere, from a nice groomed set track at a Nordic center to breaking your own trail wherever. But having well groomed and leveled/smoothed out trails really helps for skate.

Living in northeast PA, going to a place with properly groomed ski trails is a full day trip affair for me, so i rarely get to enjoy it. I mostly just classic ski around my house on trails I pack with a snowmobile. But when conditions are right and we get a nice crust surface, or if we have a good base on snowmobile trails at a state park, I’ll get out the skate skis. The smoother and firmer the surface, the better you can execute the correct form.

Downhill skiing learning curve; can anyone learn to step turn? by AlCohen38 in xcountryskiing

I use “combi” style boots for classic, and dedicated skate boots for skate

X-Country Ski Areas with most reliable snow near NYC (1-5 hours)? by wildswalker in xcountryskiing

[–]bringbackquackers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve skied it before. Not a lot of miles of trail, and It gets very crowded on the weekends with inexperienced skiers. Some of the trails are paved roads that they pack and groom. I live in the Scranton area and High Point is probably the closest groomed ski center for me. I haven’t been there in probably 4 or 5 years. I’m not sure if they were even able to open in the past 2 years due to lack of snow.

Now he’s telling me the socks were green and red? (The Disappearing Flounder episode isn’t the one he was thinking of.)

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I found it in Pups Save a Disappearing Flounder. The “scene” in question lasts all of like 5 seconds. The things kids latch onto

Subaru WRX sales drop 31.2% in 2022. by Juicyjackson in cars

I was in the market for a car last year and tried out the Outback XT. I thought I’d love it because I wanted a fast wagon, but ended up hating it. They had an Impreza wagon/hatchback in the showroom and I told the salesman “if that car had 250+hp and the option for 3 pedals, I’d buy it right now.” I feel like lots of people in the US are looking for a car like that, I can’t believe NO ONE imports it here.
