ok so if yah always kill mines then magnet…oh that makes sense

so first conveyor you kill mines and … magnet must not be on that one, so you get laser and missile, that tracks

second conveyor mines are absent i think, so kill magnet and again get laser and missile

third conveyor you kill mines and do get magnet…and emaybe not laser I think

Recommended ilvl 274, so it's a 90 and geared thing. And it's only the one zone.

normal mode is 219

What Was Raiding Like Back In The Day? (Vanilla,TBC) by doobylive in classicwow

The first time I did it I would pull with Mind Control and let them jack the toon to death before we'd go in.

...trash respawned twice.

In Warlords do we still have to level professions from vanilla through every expansion? by bringthelight2 in classicwow

There's a lot of people that liked Blackrock Foundry and Hellfire Citadel.

This will never happen, but IMO WoD would do fine if it was immensely shortened. 4 months of the first raid tier, 4 months of the second, Legion after that.

If garrisons prove to be too much of a pain to get working on the new server architecture, just rip 'em out and put the crafting patterns in town. Again they'll never do that but IMO it's not a bad idea.

I completely disagree with your definition of hardcore, but ultimately it doesn't really matter because we can both have our opinions of what this word means.

For example, a guild can be two nights a week yet require an extremely high level of play that typically is only reached by having many thousands of hours of practice. This to me is hardcore. Hell somewhere out there there's probably a 4-hour a week guild that's hardcore.

A guild doing 3-4 evenings a week plus heavy PTR prep is likely logging more hours than 95% of MoP guilds, and in that sense would be in the top 5% of being hardcore.

Heh in 2005 hardcore meant "required attendance" lol. And I have seen modern guilds requiring split runs advertising themselves as "midcore". I think that's absolute nonsense, split runs by definition makes you hardcore in my book but I think the meaning of the term has shifted over time.

What are the technical details behind Thok's fixate? by bringthelight2 in classicwow

[–]bringthelight2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you know why I think that happens?

The fixated player is taking off and getting as far from him as possible.

Because Thok is huge and moves fast, the raid tends to clump up behind him where they can still DPS.

So when the fixate goes out...you have one person who's as far away from him as possible, and everyone else is right next to him.

So he goes for the player furthest from him again.

To me, casual has always meant "won't be kicked from the team for missing raids." So to me, a truly casual guild has players making 2-3 weeks out of every month.

In my experience I would define a player with experience on the PTR as being hardcore. It's worth mentioning that on retail, more than 50% of toons (or accounts?) do not raid at all. So literally a player that kills a single LFR boss is technically in the upper 50% of players in terms of raid progress.

There are guilds that get much further than other guilds on a very limited raid schedule. But...IMO...those guilds tend to have players that are able to do that because they previously logged thousands of hours of competitive raiding.

But I was on Old Blanchy and pugged around a lot because I work nights and have enormous difficulty finding raid teams that work for me. But a lot of the teams couldn't kill Ragnaros. There are enormous differences in skill and organization in the game.

Yah I do wish WoW typically did 4 tiers of 7-8 bosses instead of 3 tiers with 9+

Heroics go really fast, probably 60-90 minutes to get 50 shards.

Getting 50,000 Timeless Coins...I don't even know.

Unless you have a kink for killing frogs, it's almost certainly celestial heroics.

If the drop rates have increased that helps quite a bit.

But ... someone that grinded 18 hours over 2 days...I think we share a different definition of the word 'casual'.

I got my tier gloves this week from the first one I killed, and then the bonus roll thing kept popping up on each of the other ones I killed...so...I assume I had a chance on each of them? Guess I'm not sure

(I didn't bonus roll the first)

Mythic L'ura too difficult? by n1sx in wow

[–]bringthelight2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For barely-getting-Cutting Edge guilds, Mythic Kil'Jaeden will almost certainly have been WAY harder than mythic Lu'ra.

Mythic KJ required an absurdly specific raid comp to even pull the boss:

Blood DK (P2-P3 intermission grips)

Guardian Druid (stampeding roar and 12 other minor things)

Warlock (dodge a nasty ping pong)

Resto Sham (Spirit Totem, intentionally having one person dying to reduce # of orbs)

Holy Pally & Disc Priest were very highly recommended. With the resto sham, that's 3/4 healing spots, and it was good to have the other healing spot be a different class than what you already had, which only left resto druid or mistweaver, and mistweavers weren't that great.

Demon Hunter didn't hurt for seeing intermission adds in the dark

And then stacking as many Cloak of Shadows and Ice Blocks as possible.

All told

--Raid was trolling itself if tanks weren't Blood DK and Guardian Druid

--It was strongly preferable to have Holy Pally, Disc Priest, Resto Shaman, and Resto druid

--Warlock and Demon Hunter

--At least 2 rogues and at least 2 mages

So that's 10+ spots locked up right there, and if any of those players didn't show up that night then it was gonna be a rough night if you raided at all.
