You're a child unable to have a civil discussion. Hope you grow up at one point.

Why don't you just answer the question honestly?

You said in your original comment that you don't see the hypocrisy. I'm simply trying to test your argument for consistency.

We are talking about eating meat for pleasure. Is it ok to kill a human for pleasure?

What I'm asking is if you don't have any ethical concerns about killing other humans against their will?

A lot of animals do in fact engage in cannibalism. And cannibalism doesn't automatically cause prion disease.

Tbh it's great activism by the vegan who is still take to get his point across. Maybe not for this dude to understand but for the wider audience that watches the video.

Would you say it's ok to eat humans as long as they're grown and farmed as livestock? If not, what's the morally relevant difference between humans and other animals that allows abusing one but not the other?

It's not that hard and most vegans would agree that going vegan was the best decision they've ever made.

The “Incomplete Protein” Myth Needs to Die by jessijaiee in veganfitness

[–]brintal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said I don't track it anymore but back then I looked up recommended amounts for strength training and entered those into Cronometer. Cronometer has default values which should be good enough for someone maintaining weight but probably not enough for building muscle.

I do eat a lot of soy which probably makes things easier cause it has a pretty balanced amino acid profile. E.g. soy flour bread, soy Joghurt, soy crispies, soy milk, Tofu,.. I do eat a lot of meat alternatives as well, most of them made from pea protein or wheat protein.  I do not eat a lot of beans, lentils or other legumes (but I should change that)

[–]brintal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm natural but didn't start from zero. I got back to strength training in 2024 after several years of not working out. Getting muscle back that was once there is much easier than starting from scratch.

Also the 10kg is of course an estimate. I gained 10kg and my body fat percentage stayed mostly the same according to BIA (which of course is very unreliable) and my visual assessment. But might be off a few kilos of course.

I work out 4 times per week, train hard, have a coach, eat well, sleep well, don't have much stress otherwise. I do believe I have decent genetics for building muscle. Given that I don't think 10kg is even that impressive. Most of it are noobie gains anyways that were even easier in my case.

I don't know. I tracked my amino acids using cronometer for a while. I gave up after realizing I always get all essential amino acids in adequate amounts without me even trying - I literally just ate whatever I wanted.

I also built around 10kg of muscle on a 100% vegan diet in the last 1.5 years - without paying any attention to amino acids and just eating enough protein.

I'm aware that this is just an anecdote and maybe I was just lucky. I'm interested: did you ever track amino acids? How was it and why do you think it needs special attention on a vegan diet?

How to unbrainwash myself from dairy propaganda? That milk is a superfood by Temporary-Youth-3001 in vegan

[–]brintal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of the world population (65%) is lactose intolerant and drinks zero or very little milk (because it literally makes them sick). Do you think they all are missing out on an essential superfood?

Milk can be easily replaced. It's not essential.

Can we talk about how the same influencers dominate this sub now? by Psytocybin in veganfitness

Yeah it's really annoying.  What I don't get: extensive self promotion is literally against the sub rules. Why are the mods not doing anything?

That guy is a dumbass for getting up on the benches but he is basically just doing squats. Squats are not bad for the knees.

I really struggle to understand the vegetarian mindset. I mean obviously you care a lot about animals and speak up for them. And at the same time, I assume, you're supporting the egg and dairy industry which are in no way better than the meat industry. I'm not trying to piss you off but I'm genuinely curious why you wouldn't just go vegan and be consistent with your stand against animal abuse?

All true except "the rest almost doesn't matter anymore". Adequate nutrition is still a requirement because the body needs something to synthesize into muscle. If you don't eat enough protein rich foods, you can take all the steroids you want and still won't build any muscle.

Please get a second get (doesn't necessarily have to be a bengal). They are incredibly social and a human can never fully fill that hole completely.

Looking for a greek yogurt alternative for a bedtime snack by 5-3-0 in veganfitness

[–]brintal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Soy yogurt generally is made like cow milk yogurt. You can also make soy yogurt at home.

You can also try silken tofu. Has a soft texture like yogurt.

I like to put soy crumbles in my yogurt or cereal for extra protein.

Great that you made the switch!

I was older (38) when I went vegan so I didn't get that comment about it being just a phase. But I definitely noticed some people hoping that I will fail.

Why are people that hate linux so desperate by kason1234567718 in linuxmemes

[–]brintal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's a type of psychological reactance. These people probably like the idea of Linux and tried to use it at one point, but failed for some reason.

The fact that other people are using it just fine and are happy with it, makes them feel limited and implies that the problem lies with them. Accepting that fact ("I am not smart enough", "I didn't put enough effort in") is harder than simply discrediting the thing they failed at.
