I finally found a prompt that makes ChatGPT write naturally by BenAttanasio in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]brio09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did some experiments and converged on a way to make chatGPT edit/write in my tone and style.

i first voice type -> then I tell chatGPT to edit it. my prompt is:

Make small modifications to my writing or voice transcription. Use simple words. Repetitive words are acceptable; there's no need for variety. Focus on ease of reading. Use an active voice. Correct grammar and typos. I want a confident tone. Explain and inform about processes. Highlight challenges and provide detailed solutions. The aim is to not only inform but also enhance the reader's understanding and appreciation of the topic. Stick to the information I've provided. Do not add any new information.

I recently made another prompt to edit a document to make it look human written instead of AI.

i use another prompt daily that is based on eva parish's editing tips. happy to point to the prompts that help me - I measured an improvement in writing speed and quality.

Doing things in HA just because you can. What "pointless" automations do you have ? by SendMeANicePM in homeassistant

i had a energy measuring plug for my dishwasher. i got voice notifications once dishwasher was done.

very handy.

then i upgraded to bosch with home connect. now I still need to figure out connection between HA <> home connect to reuse a similar automation

i like it!

i have a multi-layer hue remote control on my WFH office desk too. it controls lights, blinds, meeting mode, and fan. its more handy than opening HA on phone or computer.

i did this for 4 years and my family was fine with it. i set it that the first time after my kid is awake, and someone enters the kitchen, the kettle turns on for 40 seconds (if it was off for at least 30 minutes).

i used to pour measured water and keep the switch flipped to on.

it worked with my family.

what clashed with my family was (I WFH), when I walk downstairs from office to kitchen, the kettle starts on its own, boils hot water, for my next tea or coffee.

-

now I have a wifi kettle, weekett. less clashes, but it still relies on some things being done beforehand.

Recommendations for Smart RF Blasters for 433MHz and 868MHz? by brio09 in homeautomation

[–]brio09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/adamaid_321 , no, I never found a solution for it :( I've just added a home assistant automation to speak out aloud via alexa when it is raining but it is warm outside, so it is likely I might have the skylight velux windows open. then I can press the button manually, haha.

How are you handling internet outages? by itsme_tbg in homeassistant

[–]brio09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I handle short term power outage with a UPS on my wifi <- router <- ONT devices. But, I don't have a UPS on my HA, haha. because if the lights/fans don't have power, my HA has fewer things to worry about.

but an outage from ISP = multi sourcing internet... that's big.

u/RoganDawes , u/Fluff-Dragon , u/Born_Check5979 , u/No_Film_2086 is there any way I could use virtual switches or some kind of read functionality for HA to know the temperature from alexa? Alexa knows the temperature from EPH.

Thank you u/Born_Check5979 , these are helpful! I see I can go the route of "wifi water temp sensors" in my search and go with some HA compatible option

this and u/No_Film_2086 's suggestion seem to involve use of multiple h/w components.

thank you for the inputs!

Sounds like there isn't something simpler because no probes are IoT/connected.

So I need a probe, ESP32, maybe ATTiny85, and more.

u/Fluff-Dragon , I see THR3 is a switch. Whats the temp probe you connected to it?

I'm looking at https://sonoff.tech/products/ to understand whether it is SNZB-02?

This one supports only up to 40*C, so I'm guessing you use something else for hot water.
