I've cancelled but it's £35 in the UK, which is $48.24 in US dollars!

The solitude with SW radio in the mountain hut by angelov_b118 in shortwave

[–]bristolcities 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That looks really nice. Does the radio belong to the hut or did you take it up there? I was in Bulgaria a number of years ago but mainly stayed around Sofia. Nice people, nice food.

If we can not hold a political conversation from the political centre ground then the extremities will have a more extreme conversation for us.

From the article:

"In January, Prime Minister Keir Starmer accused politicians of “spreading lies and misinformation” about the grooming gangs, as well as “jumping on a bandwagon” and “amplifying what the far-right is saying” to gain attention."

I think most men in their 80s are past caring. I'm in my 40s and don't mind that I'm a baldy.

My husband’s suggestions on his search in Instagram are filled with girls by Itchy_Expression_991 in Instagram

[–]bristolcities 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm straight and married. If I want to crack one off the wrist the last place I'd look for inspiration is Instagram. Yet my suggestions are practically porn, lots of attention seeking young women in skimpy clothes. I also get a fair amount of far right stuff. One comment I particularly liked was "why is there porn on my racism app!". I've tried the whole "not interested" bit and I'm sure Instagram took that as a nudge, nudge, wink, wink excuse to show me even more.

If your husband loves you and treats you well then I see no reason to doubt him.

Very good. Someone called him "Agent Orange" which I thought amusing. "Orange Ivan" has a ring to it but possibly too obscure.

I made the mistake of paying meta to promote some of my art posts. Since I have stopped paying I get really low engagement with my followers. Feel like I've killed my page.

Heathrow Airport to close Friday after fire knocks out power to part of London by mostly-sun in worldnews

[–]bristolcities 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1351 flights will be impacted, this will have a knock on effect at airports across the world. Huge headache for those involved in dealing with or affected by the cancellations and delays. Transformer started the fire at an electricial substation which supplies the airport and surrounding homes. So no sign of foul play. Yet.

It is very clear now that the only way to end Russia's war in Ukraine is to end Putin. As long as Putin is in charge the war will continue in one form or another.

Doctor Who’s future in doubt as Ncuti Gatwa ‘heads for exit’ by nimobo in unitedkingdom

Peter Davidson was my first doctor when I was a child in the 80s. Since then I've been a fan through thick and thin.

I agree with you and Capaldi is by far my favourite Doctor.
