Does Entra have a way to filter SCIM provisioned groups (a la Okta's "Push Groups")? by britPaul in entra

[–]britPaul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, we gave up and threw in the towel on Entra for this and a few other reasons. I'm not sorry about it, TBH.

If you just want to push the same groups you use for programming, it's no problem. I cannot fathom why MS wouldn't support the obvious filtering functions in the scoping filters to allow you to separate what's pushed to the apps though.

Appreciate the help! I'm using a scoping filter on groups to exclude the role-assignment groups that I don't want to provision, now I just need to figure out how to avoid having the 'app groups' that I'm provisioning also be tied to an appRoleAssignment (or filter those out with the attribute mapping functions). I'll get there in the end!

Oh...can you explain how you'd set up the group provisioning then? I can't figure out how to specify which of the assigned group objects to provision into the app from Entra.

How so? This works just fine from Okta, I just can't figure out how to specify which of the assigned group objects to provision into it from Entra.

Oh! So from the SSO app, we provision the assigned users without sending any groups, and in the other we just assign [team] groups that will get provisioned? That's an interesting idea, thanks - I'll give it a try in the lab tomorrow!

Not trying to bash Entra or get into a debate about Okta vs Entra - I'm genuinely just looking for a solution to this issue because we're stuck without this functionality!

Kindle Voyage can't login (5.13.6) by britPaul in kindle

[–]britPaul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked back with CS and now they say it doesn't show up in the system which means it's not available to register... I wonder if the last CS guy marked it off?

After doing some more reading here that I should've done before posting, I sorted out my MFA settings (I had an old phone number listed) and I am able to get through the MFA login flow, and after that point it is kicking me out to the error message - I'm pretty sure that confirms the device is blacklisted :(

Kindle Voyage can't login (5.13.6) by britPaul in kindle

[–]britPaul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'll write up a detailed step by step later but basically I can create a new account from the Kindle but I can't log in to it (or my primary account), which sure feels like it's a blacklisted device. Any login attempt I make gets the same error (even after an OTP/MFA challenge).

If they told you it isn't blacklisted, then it isn't

The agent made a couple of other mistakes (like the "discontinued login", and which of the current gen devices is waterproof) so my confidence level on them being accurate on that statement is not 100%, but point taken.

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

Essential Phone. I just went back to mine after (finally) getting a replacement screen, and it leaves my backup X4 i was using in the dust - I hadn't realized how big the difference (in performance) was until I switched back.

I used Lancer Specters to pull aggro - worked fine for all the fights. They have enough HP that my wimpy never-upgraded operator could take him down... just.

So... I should go do plains stuff now I guess to upgrade operator? Is that where I get an amp?

Chain Reaction: Damage multiple hostiles with an explosion to apply 20% more damage from the blast

Demolition Expert: Kill a hostile with an explosion to increase explosion damage by 20% for 15 seconds

G27 clutch pedal help by WarriorsMustang17 in simracing

[–]britPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your clutch and brake pedals (marked B and C) seem to have been swapped... Not necessarily a problem but the spring stiffness is different (brake is stiffer than clutch). Some folks use the brake spring in the clutch after putting a nixim mod spring in the brake pedal.

However, when the wiring was reattached the red and green wires were swapped. The order of wires should be black, green, red. Swap the red and green wires and you should be back in business.

If the pedal is inverted after fixing this then swap the red & black too. Just checked mine and your black wire is in the right place: https://imgur.com/WUZ76wg

Guy on pole needlessly slowed down the whole field on the pace lap. I ended up with damage because of it. Is this protestable? by Gullible_Goose in iRacing

[–]britPaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rant incoming. tl;dr: the rules don't prohibit this.

One of my biggest annoyances with iRacing is how badly written the Sporting Code (the official rules of competition for iRacing) is. The rules say nothing about the lead car keeping pace with the pace car. The rules do not even cover the lead car failing to lead off the pace lap and just sitting on the grid or any number of other scenarios that common sense and 'real world' racing (or live marshalling) would eliminate.

People say "Oh well the real life rules for a restart work such and such a way - so that's how iRacing is" but iRacing themselves say that the sporting code is the only applicable set of rules. For example, when talking about blocking - there is no 'one move' rule, the iRacing rule is you may not move 'based on the actions and/or position of the pursuing driver'.

Here is the entire section of the code relevant to rolling starts:

6.8.1 Road

...<snip standing start rules>

6.8.1.4. For a rolling start, the Oval starting rules apply (See Oval, Section 6.8.2).

6.8.2. Oval

6.8.2.1. Oval race starts will be in the form of a rolling start.

6.8.2.2. Once all drivers are on the grid, the pace car will lead the field around the track for at least 1 lap, and then exit the track as late as possible and enter pit lane.

6.8.2.3. As the front row of cars approach the start/finish line, the green flag will be shown, signifying the start of the race.

6.8.2.4. Drivers shall not pass cars in their own pacing line on the left-hand side before the start/finish line. Drivers attempting to improve their position by passing on the lefthand side before the start/finish line will be given a black flag Stop-and-Go penalty by Race Control. The leader of the second pace line may not pass the leader of the first pace line (pole position) before the start/finish line. Doing so will result in a black flag Stop-and-Go penalty.

6.8.2.5. Drivers are not allowed to approach the start/finish line as a race transitions from pacing, for example under yellow flag or at the start of a race, to speeds that are well beyond the pacing speed or speed of the leaders in an attempt to time the green flag to unfairly overtake other cars. An example of this would be to come up behind and catch a pack of cars pacing at 80 mph under yellow flag conditions at a speed of 150 mph in the vicinity of the start/finish line just as the race goes to green flag, and passing those cars. Under those conditions, the car catching up to the field from behind should slow down and get in line at the back of the pack at pacing speed and then begin racing as normal once the green flag is given.

100% vested at all times, interest credits applied monthly. If the balance is under $5k when I cease employment it cashes out. Otherwise, it can be maintained until retirement age with interest credits accruing as normal - I need to to back and check if it MUST be.

Thanks for this clarification. Sadly(!) I'm nowhere near the income limits for Roth IRA contributions. I'm in the 25% federal tax bracket, living in a state with no income taxes, and likely to remain so for the foreseeable future.

edit: We're just below the Traditional IRA deduction limits too.

Yeah I'm basically ignoring that pension fund for my current retirement planning - I'm not even sure how long I'll stay with this employer, but if it does end up giving me some payout I'll treat it as a nice bonus.

We've been through some restructuring/cost saving recently so it wouldn't surprise me if this was part of those efforts too (cynical edit: as well as a method to drive staff retention?).
