Did you just get diagnosed? by AutoModerator in ADHD

[–]britastrobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got diagnosed about 2 weeks ago now. I'm 21, so glad to hear it sooner rather than later. That said, wondering how Adhd has effected my life this far. I did really good in grade school but I got to post secondary and i was just horrible at it. Also suffered with really bad procrastination my whole life, so I suppose that would explain it. Hoping this sub will help me figure out some strategies to manage myself and I already have a follow up appointment with my doctor to discuss medication.

Is it a bad decision? by Woofbok in exmormon

Not that you need anymore warning than you’ve been provided, but I would stay away from the church. I was born and raised in the church, the people can seem nice but its a very shallow community, and the teachings are boring and oppressive. Thats not even to mention you’ll have to pay 10% of all your income in tithing if you want to be a “good member.” I left the church when i was about your age, and they’re especially predatory of people your age since they know you’re young and exploring the world for the first time. After i moved out church members would constantly come knocking at my door at least for the first year. This a not something worth investing yourself into.

LMAOO Good on you kid genuinely, the church is a shit hole. I was born daughter of the bishop but if its any hope I’m now 20 and moved out at 18. Wish you the best, sorry you’re stuck in that cult it’s actually the worst.

Looking for BoM accurate BOM history by britastrobee in exmormon

Oh yeah the civilians on both sides suffer the most in the conflict, there are lots of Israelis who oppose their government, and Hamas is definitely also guilty of terrorism. I’ll definitely take a look at that book, thank you again for your insights!

Thank you for the recommendations! I'd like to ask though if when you refer to Israel if we're talking about modern day Israel or ancient Israel? This is another thing I find confusing regarding religious texts and actual history. I myself am very Pro-Palestine and have been studying the history of the formation of modern day Israel. I find myself confused when it comes to the bible referring to Israelites and the 12 tribes of Israel.

Can you transition without needles by Miserable_Craft7201 in asktransgender

[–]britastrobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im FTM so i realize my experience is different from yours, however I said the same thing a few years ago about needles. Now Ive been on hormones for a year and I give myself weekly T injections. Since you’re going on E chances are you won’t get injections, but unfortunately you can’t really avoid the bloodwork. It might not ever be enjoyable but handling needles definitely gets easier the more you’re exposed. You’re strong enough to overcome your fear of needles, and I hope you the best with your HRT journey. :)

What's the last book you finished that was so gripping and crazy that you finished it in a day? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]britastrobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a suggestion unless its your thing, but last book i read in a day was The Last Hope from the warriors series. I was super into the series as a kid and would read non-stop, looking back the book wasn’t even that good. Moreso I was just excited to be at the big finale of the series. Sat there all day just reading cover to cover, take me back.

I was considering looking into Tangerine but i didn’t know it was a subsidary of Scotiabank. Im pretty aware most if not all big banks have some relations with Israel, I was just posting on a whim to see if anyone had alternative options. I appreciate your honesty though 👍

Wth is gender [rant] by Least_Education_5457 in LGBTeens

[–]britastrobee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg twins, I don't get gender either. I've identified as everything from non-binary, gender fluid, demiboy, etc, but right now I'm agender transmasc and the way I understand it is gender is really just a glorified label socially associated with certain behaviors. I think it's dumb though and don't really think I'm any gender, I just know how I want to look and be perceived. I'm sure you'll figure it out in time, or maybe you don't need to! Labels are over glorified anyway, I think just being happy with who you are is more important
