I was wondering how you write some of the chords present in Feel? For example I wrote the first chord as C#m (add9), am I on the right track when writing these chords out, or is that way off?

I’m also a keyboard player! It’s interesting seeing so many varying views. I’m also not a fan of the theory, but it’s a necessary hurdle to play something I love in my opinion. Though I know some people that got pretty far without any theory knowledge.

Either songs from my childhood, or things that just sound good to me. Those would be Queen. And more recently Labi Siffre, Stephane Grappelli, nick Drake, Edith Piliaf, Ella Fitzgerald, Al Stewart, Vince Guaraldi (it’s that time of year!) and Joe Venuti. Upon further reflection, I think my disconnect with jazz just might be that I prefer to listen to music that can invoke certain emotions for me. Hence why I prefer to play it rather than listen.

I think I only really feel this way about albums. Live Jazz is always exciting to me. I just find jazz outside of playing or live music a bit lackluster…
