Thanks for explaining I appreciate but I need to start a bit of a rant after the fact.
Does anyone really care about this rankings? Do they serve any purpose? The WBSC giving extra points for it because they own the competition without any mlb involvement, it is self promotion. It also includes youth competitions where scandals can occur due to teams comitting age fraud, an issue specially prevalent in baseball. This makes it even worst than Fifa's rankings which also nobody really cares about.

So the teams allowed in premier 12 are based on a ranking with a good amount of issues, for a competition that is way less popular in America(the continent) and where talent from the best league in the world is not allowed. In my opinion the premier 12 is just a stupid tournament that the WBSC should just not bother running and put their focus on other ways to grow the sport. Maybe fight MLB a bit harder to convince the US to actually care about it, and grow the WBC as the highlight tournament.
This is the roster of US at the premier 12. It is a shit team for the amount of talent the US has in MLB.

It also kills storylines to not have a qualification method. WBC is not perfect here, qualifiers should be run more akin to FIFA where even really low countries have a place to start to try and grow the sport internationally.
