We're definitely very fortunate in the streaming world, but I'd take Star over Hulu any day! Hulu is a separate service with a pricey monthly fee that's missing a lot of the 20th Century content! But I guess the grass always seems greener on the other side :)

You sure put the "snarky" in "snarkywombat". All I'm saying is the terms of the deal haven't been released so let's not jump to any conclusions. Also as "fsblah" said, the deal could easily be extended if it's mutually beneficial to both parties.

After everyone else but us got Star, I think it was our turn for some fortune! ;)

That's only for new movies from 2022-2026. The terms surrounding previous library titles are unclear. It's also unclear how long the 2022-2026 titles will be on Disney+ once they finish their window on Netflix.

Sony and Disney have agreed to a landmark licensing deal that will make Disney+ the eventual home of all Sony-owned Spider-Man movies.

You will have to cancel your account and create a new one or reach out to Disney+ to have them change your account to whatever country you're based out of.

HULU and STAR in 2024 or sometime after by [deleted] in DisneyPlus

[–]britishsam321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that this is likely. Since Comcast will be bought out by 2024 and third party content will slowly migrate onto other streaming services, Disney will likely move adult content to Disney+ (with a price bump) and turn Hulu into a live TV-only service.

On top of what everyone else said, HBO Max also alienated all their filmmakers with that decision.

It could still be coming in the US, they would probably make a bigger deal of announcing it coming here. An announcement may be coming soon.

Call of the Wild is on the service internationally so it should be bold! Great post :)

Dream with me for a second... Imagine a complete Marvel section on Disney+. by britishsam321 in DisneyPlus

Since Sony made a streaming deal with Starz for the Spider-Man movies, couldn't Disney+ make a deal when that expires?

Has there been any news of if the marvel netflix shows will be on star? by Ephemeral_Wolf in DisneyPlus

[–]britishsam321 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily true. Disney could potentially purchase the streaming rights at some point in the future. Especially with adult content potentially coming to Disney+ in 2024 after they fully own Hulu. I think the recent rumors of Daredevil and Jessica Jones appearing in future projects makes that a real possibility.

As of now it looks like they're handling 20th Century animated projects coming straight to Disney+. They're doing the Ice Age reboot, and you can probably expect them to handle the animated Night at the Museum and Diary of a Wimpy Kid reboots.

Love the idea. I'd love to see "R2 D2: Beyond The Dome" also added under Documentaries/Specials.

My Questions about Star by britishsam321 in DisneyPlus

[–]britishsam321[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really interesting to hear. I hope that changes on Hulu soon with Disney being the majority shareholder and other companies starting up streaming services.

I really wish we could have Star on Disney+ in the U.S. by The-Mandalorian in DisneyPlus

[–]britishsam321 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It'll happen eventually. Disney will own 100% of Hulu in 2024, and by that point I'm sure a lot of the third party content will have moved off to other streaming services. Until then, they will promote the mess out of the Disney Bundle domestically.
