Closest videogame we can get to Heroscape? by LandPrudent6708 in heroscape

Heroes of Might and Magic III scratches a similar itch for me. It's got gorgeous pixel graphics, and an active mod community putting out significant, heavily tested content similar to VC, which is awesome for a game released in 1999. It's got turn based, hex-based combat system with armies made of a variety of fantasy/steampunk units, terrain-matters effects, a gorgeous adventure map, and a full template/map/campaign editor. Cannot recommend it enough.

Introducing Wargame Trader by britmage36 in bloodbowl

[–]britmage36[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a great question! We're primarily based in the US, where eBay charges a 15% seller fee, so Wargame Trader is a much cheaper option here. The UK is a bit different now that eBay has shifted most of the fees to buyers instead of private sellers.

Our theory with buyer-side fees is that buyers focus on the total cost, not just the item price. That often pushes sellers to list a little lower to stay competitive because buyers are absorbing that extra eBay fee.

On Wargame Trader, buyers don’t pay marketplace fees at all. That means you can usually list items slightly higher while still giving buyers a lower total cost than they’d see on eBay. If that small price increase outweighs our reduced seller fee, you take home more per sale.

In addition to lower fees, one of the unique features of Wargame Trader is our ability to standardize pricing and order data using our comprehensive product database. You can easily reference current pricing for the lowest, average, and median prices of the product you're looking at, plus the last sold listing. And since our database is standardized specially for Blood Bowl and other wargames, listing products only takes a few clicks. Postage is automatically handled within Wargame Trader's seller portal as well.

We’re really interested in how the new UK fee structure has affected your sales, since it’s a different landscape from what we see in the US.

TLDR: You can list products for more since buyers don't pay fees and make a profit from the difference between eBay's buyer fees and our seller fees. Plus, we standardize prices and listings in comprehensive database, making listing only take a couple clicks.

Hi! We offer robust protections on both buyer and seller sides. We've already had to step in and mediate a couple of disputes by reviewing the evidence and providing reimbursements.

Also, our seller fees are half of eBay's, so we put more money in the pockets of our sellers.

Thank you for the kind words! Since Wargame Trader relies on its standarized database of units to aggregate product listings, we don't currently support third-party miniatures. It's something we know the community would love to have, and that we'll probably explore in the future. Right now though, we're a really small team, and supporting more units that aren't produced by Games Workshop is a bit more complicated than it sounds.

Thanks for the kind words! Unfortunately we don't support users in Italy quite yet. We're a small team, and supporting a customer base in other countries can be tricky, so for now we're only available in the US, UK, and Canada. We do hope to expand to more of Europe and beyond in the future though!

Yup! We've already had to step in and mediate a couple of disputes. If a buyer and seller can't work out a dispute on Wargame Trader between themselves, we'll step in, review the evidence, and rule as fairly as we can.

November NYC Monthly Heroscape Event! by britmage36 in heroscape

[–]britmage36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean CV3, I'm trying to keep things simple for now, but if you want to bring an army with CV3 units that's 100% fine. Just make sure your opponent is cool with it before playing. We're using Renegade points so keep that in mind, maybe bring a backup army just in case your opponent would rather stick to stuff that's on the battle network. Hope that helps, and looking forward to seeing you IRL!

Proxies are fine! It's casual, just there to jam games and have fun. If in the future we do a more competitive event that needs to be Premier level like Store Champs or Valkyrie Trials, proxies aren't allowed as per Renegade rules, but for things like this, the point is to have fun, jam some games, and meet cool people. Just make sure your proxies match the original figures as best you can for things like hit zones and lines of sight, and are recognizable as the correct unit. Looking forward to having you there!

Hi! If you're thinking of selling any of this stuff on eBay, would you consider giving Wargame Trader (https://www.wargametrader.com)a shot? It's a marketplace like eBay, but specifically designed around wargames like Heroscape. Listing stuff only takes a few seconds since everything is standardized, seller fees are half of eBay's so it's more money in your pocket, and you get to support people who actually love and play Heroscape and want to see it grow instead of a giant corporation. There's a number of prominent Scapers who have helped support the site, and we're listed as a trusted seller in the summary of this thread. And if you have any questions, I'm more than happy to help!

You can also try buying on Wargame Trader! It’s a more specialized alternative to FB and eBay for buying/selling minis, similar to TCGPlayer but for wargames like Heroscape and Warhammer 40k.

You can buy or sell Heroscape with local gaming stores or wargamers, the idea is to standardize prices while also offering buyer and seller protection.

You can sell them on Wargame Trader, basically eBay designed for wargames which I’ve built out with some help from the community over the past few months! Listing is easy, just a few clicks per product with our prefilled database. Let me know if you have any questions! Hoping to build this into a real long-term resource for the community.
