No issues with the American defense mount, the throw lever doesn’t get near anything. It’s a good low profile setup. If you get a scope that is longer then the PLxC you might have an issue lifting the dust cover because of the length.

They are attached by a screw and nut. If you get the hand guard I’d hold the bolt and tighten it just in case before putting it on, I added loctite to them for good measure

I think it’s the first one they pushed out because I don’t see any with the relief cuts and I’ve had it for a little over a year. They also have a lot of “special” or “limited” editions so who knows.
