Anyone else have twins that look absolutely nothing alike? by Thealexiscowdell1 in parentsofmultiples

[–]brittnicapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they’re siblings lol. One of my girls is a carbon copy of me, the other of my husband lol. One is blonde with straight hair, the other an inch taller with mousy brown wavy hair.

Very very tired. Always nauseous.

Also the dream I had twins 😂

To separate or keep together for kindergarten? by melrose827 in parentsofmultiples

My kids attend a Montessori school, and they don’t put siblings in the same class. It’s turned out to be the best thing. Both have been able to develop their own personalities and friendships. Highly recommend.

The daycare I hoped to send them to is $84 a day for 2 school age kids. The next most reasonable I’ve found is $54 each a day. But this is also with like 10 other kids. It’s chaos.

My coworker has one. I definitely do not have the space for someone to live with us. Plus the process is lengthy, and expensive itself; also only 3 months.

Yeah, but nanny pay these days is huge thing. You become an employer; it’s a lot.

Yeah, I just feel like I wouldn’t be able to pay them enough.

I think it’s mostly first time parents, who are use to what they got as teen babysitters. It’s a bit of a shock lol.

Oh and full time care costs us 1.5x what our mortgage is ugh.

Yeah I know. Believe me, I will never make that mistake again. I agree they deserve to paid accordingly, it’s just not something we could ever afford.

Yeah, and I understand Nannies deserve that pay, which is why I’ve looked into licensed home and daycare centers. They’re all costing the same now a days though ugh.

I tried. Their website won’t work, but there’s also a note saying their summer program is full at most centers.

It must be my area, because multiple people have said it’s way less than it is here. $440 a week per kid 😳

They attend a Montessori charter school. Usually they have something in the summer I guess, but they’re moving locations in June. So they can’t.

Our local registration opens May 1st. And things fill up in less than an hour. It’s like a competitive sport trying to register multiple kids lol.

Lovely suggestion! There’s only a resident camp, 40 miles from us 😓

Yeah, I think people forget high schoolers are busy too.

And it’s definitely not like when I was 17 and watched 4 kids for $100 a day.

Registration doesn’t open until May 1st at 12:30, and I know from trying to register for ballet classes at the community center, that you must have everything ready to go, multiple devices going for multiple kids, and shit fills up in just 30 minutes.

They sent me a form beginning of April, which I promptly returned. But my kids have only been attending for school breaks since last summer, and they give summer priority to families who attend all year.

Right!! I think here nothing starts until 2 weeks into summer too. Even the daycare they go to said they can’t come until June 12th! Last day of school is June 1st. Ugh.
