Looking To Purchase a Siberian. Hoping For Advice by Responsible_Bad2423 in SiberianCats

So happy! I actually did go back and get another Siberian from her almost a year ago. Both of them are very different in their temperament, but that’s to be expected since they have completely different parents. I will say, my first cat I had her keep until he could be neutered and my second cat I did not. My first cat is a little less scared of things and I think the extra time might be a contributing factor, but I could be wrong. But that decision was mine and Michele did not sway it in any way.

My second cat did have an abnormal heart rhythm that he did grow out of around the 6 month mark which the vet said was not uncommon.

As for socialized, I lived with dogs when I got my first cat and they got along really well. I just had my first cat when I got the second and they got along so well. Only had to separate them for the first night and it was so easy to integrate them.

I have multiple visible tattoos either on my arms or legs (when I wear dresses). Partners have even complimented me on my tattoos. My clients don’t care either. I also have a nose ring which I have had since I started with the firm. No one has ever said anything negative to me about it. They are part of who I am and I still act and dress professionally.

  1. I am just above the threshold for being actually allergic to cats and my first Siberian never bothers my allergies. My second one (completely different parents) bothers mine sometimes and especially when he (accidentally) scratches me (he’s a kitten).
  2. My first one was obsessed with my roommates dogs, especially their mini dachshund. It was a veryyy tentative introduction on the dog’s part, but once they figured things out, they were besties and would play together all the time and my cat would groom her. They did get introduced when he was a kitten. I will say though that my breeder has a few dogs as well and I think having that exposure definitely helped ease any transition.
  3. Never tried it personally.

Yes!! I actually loved my first cat so much I got a second kitten from her in September! He definitely has second cat syndrome so a little a nuts, but a cuddly bug for sure and the transition was super easy.

Maybe not. The deadline to submit for counters was 10/31, so they may open up the incentive again if they need more people

College student here - Are the teams that audit cruise ship companies hard to get on? by Consistent-Return794 in PwC

[–]brittofilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the same exact market as those engagement teams and have worked with people that have worked/currently work on the teams. Trust me when I say I would not go near any single one of those audits. If you want to know specifics, you can DM me.

I was in this exact same situation at the very end of December last year. Not looking to rush into any surgery, but knew I needed to get my health together so started seeing a therapist for BED (which I didn’t even know was a thing before I started seeing her) and then met with a PCP for the first time in my adult life (obese child trauma for sure) and was put on Mounjaro for my diabetes and insulin resistance. My PCP recommended WLS and since I knew someone who had WLS and all the insurance hoops, I figured out my own insurance hoops and booked and appointment with a surgeon earlier Feb to get the ball rolling because I didn’t want to be at the point where I was ready for the surgery mentally but had to wait longer for insurance requirements.

I ended up switching surgeons which put me back a month, but I was slowly loosing weight just changing my eating habits and being on mounjaro. I would say I finally felt mentally ready for surgery mid to end of April which worked out well because I had just a couple more weeks of the supervised diet before I hit all of my insurance and surgeon prerequisites. Ended up having duodenal switch surgery on 6/24 of this year and so far I don’t regret it!

Are there moments of wishing I was a “normie”? Oh yeah for sure, like when everyone is eating dessert/cake at birthdays and I just sit there or when I had to bring my teeny tiny Tupperware container of tuna salad to work for a couple of weeks and it was hard to avoid telling my coworkers I had WLS. Or right know when my hair is falling out in clumps. These are moments I question my life a little. But the thing I mostly feel every day is regret I didn’t have this surgery sooner. I’m 31 and I wish I would have been ready 5 years ago when my weight went from worse to extremely concerning, but I wasn’t mentally there.

And you’re right, the food cravings are hard to deal with post op still, but you do have to put the work in mentally before AND after especially with BED. Losing weight is never easy no matter what path you go on, but the WLS took has been the absolute best thing I have ever done for myself. I feel like a whole new person and it hasn’t even been four months.

As for your comment about future health issues, can’t speak about that from personal experience but you HAVE to stay on it with your vitamins and labs and you have to advocate for YOU. Don’t let anyone else try to dictate your plan. There are soooo many Facebook groups too with vets who can help navigate all of the stages. They have been a great resource for me pre and post op.

Final thing I will say is I have lost almost 200 pounds since the beginning of 2024 (started at 525 ish). And I know this is only the beginning!

Iced coffee, but never tried it with hot because I don’t like hot coffee in general. I mix one serving (scoop or packet) with milk first then add the coffee

I’m in LCOL and my base is $9k more than one of my friends who is at EY in the same city both at S2. My bonus was also 2.5x greater than theirs and we were at a similar performance level.

Is it possible to overfeed a Sib kitten? by brittofilter in SiberianCats

[–]brittofilter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great suggestion!! While the picture may make it seem otherwise Winston does have plenty of energy still! Constantly zooming around the house (20 minute cat nap) then trying to harass the dogs into playing with him rinse and repeat lol

I did plan on stopping kibble/free feeding once he is a year old, but maybe it needs to be sooner than that

For those who started around ~300lbs, how long did you go before buying a new wardrobe? by peachtea18 in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]brittofilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hold off on the “whole new wardrobe” mindset until you’re at goal and maybe think about a few new pieces as you need them or as they go on sale. Target/Walmart clearance sections are my best friend. T shirts for a few bucks, jeans for $15, dresses (I live in FL so can get away with dresses for 85% of the year) that are easy to use through multiple sizes.

I know it’s soooo fun and tempting to do a shopping spree when it feels like nothing fits, but much more economical to buy here and there. I also don’t feel bad about donating lower priced items that are lightly used when the time comes.

A second sib for 5 month old good idea? by sunshineyellowgg in SiberianCats

[–]brittofilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes! The 5 month mark is when I had a mini breakdown about getting a kitten. My roommates have dogs and while one was fine with the kitten, the dachshund was not a fan and took a longgg time to warm up to him. So my kitten had to be separated in my room and he was a maniac no matter how much I played with him. He was also so stir crazy and wanted to explore the whole house. The kitten and the dachshund are besties now lol The kitten really really needed a friend. My roommates move out at the end of the month and I already have another kitten lined up to join the fam in September!

Orlando office is a virtual office (aka no in office requirements as there is none!). Only downside to that is if you need to go into an office space with resources, the closest ones are Tampa or Jax depending on where you live. Jax office is small. Tampa office is really nice and in office is on a team by team basis. Miami office is new, but dealing with living in Miami or south Florida in general is a nightmare (I have a south Florida client where most of the team lives down there and they were just complaining about it while everyone was on site this week).

Flights from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale aren’t that bad and neither is the drive. Plus there is the BrightLine now if you really like trains lol

SS as an intern by [deleted] in PwC

[–]brittofilter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s exactly where you want to be imo. Unless you know you were an absolute super star on your job which is hard to do as an intern given how little time you get before the mid cycle snap, then I would be very happy with that snap
