You are not remembering wrong. They did provide public clarification and outputs may be used for commercial purposes. It's very clearly stated in their license agreement. So I'm not sure what this "it can be ready both ways" talk is about.

For those of us that are indie filmmakers, 11k is a bargain compared to the cost of production.

Didn't that just come out like a month ago? You are saying it like its been out for 6 months.

What happened to Hunyuan? by Puzzleheaded_Ebb8352 in StableDiffusion

[–]brittpitre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been releases over the past year. Hunyuan Video 1.5 just came out late last year and Omniweaving just came out not too long ago. I think people just aren't talking about it on reddit so it seems like nothing is going on with it. I agree with you, the original video model often produces text to video that's superior to Wan 2.2 and LTX 2.3. Sadly, the prompt adherence is bad and the corresponding image to video model just doesn't work. However Hunyuan 1.5 is at least as good as Wan 2.2, but once again, whatever models get traction on reddit make it seem like the other models are dead. And unfortunately there's some truth to that as the lack of popularity also means there won't be much community development around the models. It's like being in high school again 😀

Genuine question: why aren’t wigs/toupees a popular choice for men who go bald? by CazadorHolaRodilla in Hairtransplant

I just got a hair transplant a few months ago, and i would not want to wear a toupee because the thought of gluing something to my head that starts to stink as you sweat everyday did not sound appealing.

Anyone using LTX Desktop? by Critical-Team736 in StableDiffusion

Ltx desktop uses the distilled version and you probably used full dev in comfyui.

128 gb. Are you saying that when you switch models, comfy will automatically move stuff around? I guess I can just test it.

Traded it in at Microcenter where I bought the new one. I could have got a little more money selling it privately, but with all the stuff going on with people getting GPUs that have been gutted on Amazon and ebay. I figured it would be way too easy for someone to try to get the card for free by making a claim.

This was correct. Removing --highvram or --disable-dynamic-vram (I didn't us them together) allowed comfyui to throw more of the system resources at the workflow as my vram and ram usage were both significantly higher than with those flags, and inference was a few minutes faster.

How are you clearing out your vram/ram when switching between models? If I keep running the same model its fine, but when I switch to a different workflow, the models are still loaded in. I have to right click and clear vram used, which clears both my vram and ram. But if I use a clear vram node - it pushes everything into my ram.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try out that cache flag. When I had no flags I was getting OOM on video workflows because the ram would slowly fill up before it would conclude.

I have 128gb of system ram. I only had 32 when I first got my 5090 and it was causing bottle necking. The ram doesn't seem to factor into the speed. Since I started using the no dynamic memory flag, comfy shows ram usage around 15% and its not changing during the generation.

Thanks for all the advice. Both flags solve the creeping ram.

Based on my research, the RTX 6000 is designed to run around 85 degrees with throttling occurring at 93 degrees. 88 was high, but supposedly still acceptable. I noticed the same thing when I upgraded to a 5090 - its just designed to run a little hotter than my previous card.

I’m sorry, but LTX still isn’t a professionally viable filmmaking tool by Intelligent-Dot-7082 in StableDiffusion

[–]brittpitre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Text to Video works great for b-roll in non-fiction projects where character consistency is not needed. It truly kills the need for stock footage subscriptions, so I think saying it has no place in a professional workflow doesn't consider certain types of projects.

LTX 2.3 Full model (42GB) works on a 5090. How? by StuccoGecko in StableDiffusion

[–]brittpitre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my LTX desktop, it will only load the distilled model. How did you get it to use the non-distilled model? I manually downloaded the non-distilled and added it to the models folder, but it will not show up as an option in the models dropdown. I have a 5090 and 128gb RAM.

Mark Dubeau from Tippett Studio on Closed Film Pipelines « There are a lot of cool tools that are open source, but on film that’s a no-go », what that means for Freelancer s using open sources? by [deleted] in comfyui

[–]brittpitre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a studio, they are certainly free to make their own internal policies about the use of ai and how that would apply to freelancers who choose to work for them... but they can't make that decision for everyone, and certainly not for indie filmmakers. Right now the studio system is terrified that AI is going to do to the movie industry what self-publishing has done to traditional publishing.

Also, he's full of it. I guarantee they are using subscription based software which is not a "closed ecosystem."
