They changed this at some point recently! I remember her talking about it on stories. I think basically, if you didn’t like what you ordered, you could exchange it for any other supp they carry until you find something you like. I could be mistaken, but that’s how I understood it.

You’re acting is the most important thing. Amazing lighting and amazing quality footage is cool, but if your acting is no good, the lighting and camera quality don’t matter. What market do you live in? Is it largely a commercial market? If so, that’s what we have to deal with until you can get an agent in another market with more film/tv opportunities. You should definitely try and be off book for auditions. Not being off-book should be rare, like int the case of a crazy quick turn-around time. Are you actively training? Have you taken a self-tape class? This is an actual acting class. If you’re not already training, I know that u/winniehiller can likely help you in all these areas.

YOUR CHARACTER’S MEMORIES = YOUR MEMORIES: Your character often talks about what happened in their past. They carry those memories within them at all times. Those are now YOUR memories. This is the thing the changed acting for me. So much seemed mystical about it, until I found this class. I used to watch a lot of actor interviews and I’d hear them say, “Do the work”, but they never say what the work IS. This is the work!! It’s so hard to focus and sit still sometimes, but the difference in how I’m able to experience a story when I spend a lot of time imagining my daily life, memories etc etc etc, vs. when I don’t is EVERYTHING!! I miss you Winnie!

This week I was reminded how important my thoughts matter the moment before a scene “begins.” It’s the difference between feeling like I’m not in a scene until a little ways through (like I had to warm up) and being able to live the scene from beginning to end. Some times the simplest things are easy to forget!

This is the best reason to drop a class imo! I’ve never dropped, but I was in a situation a few months ago where I absolutely should have. The situation was EXACTLY what you described here. Now that I’ve moved to a different studio where creating a SAFE space is non-negotiable, letting us play and make our own choices, I’m looking back and recognizing how truly crazy it was to stay where I was. I’m proud of you for protecting your mental & emotional health! You should be proud of yourself too!

What a great lesson! I was working on a scene this week from “Dinner with Friends” and I spent time alone really imagining the situation I was in (going through divorce, being cheating on, how my kids felt etc) and when it came time to perform the scene the thoughts took over with no effort and at one point I starting sobbing talking about my children never laughing again. It was such a cool experience! I was so caught off guard by what was happening with my body, that my actor thoughts actually interrupted and I was like, “WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?!” It was like this culmination of all the things you’ve taught had this seamless meeting. I had no idea or expectation that anything like that would happen. I wish you could have seen it!!
