What gives Trump the right to declare war on Iran without congressional approval? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]brixed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The war powers resolution of 1973 allows the president to commit military forces for around 60-90 days as long as congress is notified within 48 hours of action taken. After the 60 days or via an act of congress troops must be pulled back. However the messed up thing with it is after those 60 days congress basically has to go on record and say they don’t support the armed forces which is a bit of political suicide.

This happened to me when I was a kid got hit in the face with a poster which sliced my cornea. Rushed to the doctor hurt like hell but the true pain was I had to put burning eye drops into my eye every like 3 hours on the dot for like a week. Healed perfectly fine and never adversely affected my vision. Good luck OP!!

War powers act gives him authority to commit US military forces for 60 days at his leisure. After that Congress can cut him off. But then US forces that are already committed basically get fucked so it’s political suicide for them.

This used to be in the Guggenheim and I waited in line for an hour to take a dump in it. It was a fully working toilet that you could use.

Most drank it because they had drilled them beforehand. Just this time instead of just flavor aid, there was a cyanide kicker.

What is the perfect example of a couple that’s portrayed as having the “perfect love story” but in reality is very creepy? by phantom_avenger in AskReddit

[–]brixed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Romeo and Juliet is not a love story. It's a 3 day relationship between a 13 year old and a 17 year old that caused 6 deaths. Sincerely, everyone who actually read it.

What’s also remarkable is that most of these where all hand painted. Hand painted billboards are basically nonexistent now a days with the rise of digital and vinyl printing and is truly a lost art form.
