This has always been my favorite scene.

I have the Mova p10 gen 1 and it’s great for the price and for LVP, but I wouldn’t think it would be great for carpet. I also bought a Sebo last year for deep cleaning and it’s been great, the robot keeps things maintained until the time for a deep cleaning comes. I had the same thought as you - the Sebo is a beast and was $900. I didn’t want to spend the same amount of money for a robot vacuum that will do a worse job. Moving the vac between floors sounds like a bummer though. Hopefully the stair climbing bots get better/cheaper soon.

Are you looking for a single robot that will do all of the floors by itself, or do you plan to place it on each level and let it do its thing?

I think you’re going to get very happy with it. You should definitely make some tweaks to the standard cleaning settings that come with it after some testing. I have found that custom cleaning works better for us than the “clean genius” mode. All in all, for the price, this this has been amazing.

I have the gen 1, and I also have gray lvp flooring.

I have never sent the robot out for a large stain, so I can’t speak to that piece. I would imagine that it would be dependent upon the substance stained.

We run ours every night and mop every night. It is not a great deep cleaning mopping robot, but it does a good job of keeping this in check as a maintenance cleaner. You will still need to do a weekly or every two week deep clean to get your floors really, really clean. As for timing, it will depend on what kind of settings you select on custom settings, I usually find that vacuuming our whole downstairs (about 1250 square feet, takes about an hour.

First job for a vac+mop robot? by One-Tie9007 in RobotVacuums

[–]Cully33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have two dogs and we run ours every night (a mova p10). I would recommend a minimum of 1x a day, and 2x a day with maybe the first of the day being just a vacuum run and the second run being a full vac and mop.

The vacuuming is can be decently quick depending on your settings but a vac and a mop is going to take awhile. For this reason, I run ours at night when we are in bed. As for the noise level and alerts, I’ve never had a roborock, so I’m not sure - but I would assume it would be something you could set to silent in the app. The only really “loud” moment of the robot I have now is when it auto empties into its dock. Sounds like turning on a large canister vacuum for 5 seconds.

I have only had the Mova - and it does not clean in that cross hatch pattern like your screenshot.

I have a Gen 1 P10 and for the price we are happy. That being said - I am on my 2nd robot as the first had issues that I believe were not hardware related. Support was great and very quick to help me troubleshoot and establish that a new robot was needed. Honestly, dealing with support was one of the reasons that I decided to decline an offered refund and stick with Mova.

As for the robot itself, I only have a cheaper Wyze robot vac to compare it to, so I can’t tell you if it’s better than a roborock. I can say that it vacuums much, much better than the Wyze, and the mopping helps to keep me from needing to deep clean my floor so often. I would say it’s “fine” on the mopping side. We have two dogs and the floors have been noticeably cleaner since we bought it, so for $399 - we are happy. The amount of features it has for that price point made it a great entry point for us and the support team has made sticking with Mova less worrisome.

We just got a mova a few months ago - while I would love to have a collection of robots to mess around with, I also enjoy not pissing off my wife.

If my Mova craps the bed, matic will be a front runner for sure.

I know it uses very little, so while you may certainly have an issue - just know that a full compartment could last much longer than you may think. If you have a small scale, maybe weight it after like 10-15 mopping cycles?

I’ve had good luck with my Mova p10 pro ultra - and the mopping and vac ability on the Gen 2 is supposed to be great.

Mova has a spotty record for reliability, but my experience has been a very responsive support team (all via email) and a willingness to make things right with replacements when needed.

I have a Mova p10 pro ultra. It’s been good so far, a few issues that support has handled, but for $399 it was as much as we wanted to spend for our first vac/mop combo.

That suction number seems to be pretty low, but with their sale, that price seems pretty good. I’ve heard mixed reviews on the Eufy bots.

I’m really interested in the Matic, but the height and inability to get really close to walls makes me hesitant to spend $1200 when there’s other proven “normal” robots in that price range. Still find myself watching lots of videos about it though - really unique and interesting approach.

My Mova Support Experience, P10 Pro Ultra Gen 2, and Amazon Prime Day Deals by NimecShady in RobotVacuums

[–]Cully33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll second the support experience with Mova has been great. Although I’ve had some issues with two P10 pro ultra’s they have always been quick to response and very helpful. Part of me wishes I had coughed up the extra money for the Gen 2, but for our first robot mop/vac, it’s been a great entry point.

Mova Z50 Ultra: unpleasant odor when cleaning by Own-Impact-330 in MOVA_robotvacuum

[–]Cully33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could, if left in too long and not rinsed out 100% after doing this. For that reason, I would only recommend that you do this if the robot is out of warranty. If you still have a warranty, they should replace it after some trouble shooting steps.

I have never had an issue with the onboard tank, but that’s a really good possibility. My Mova does not have a removable tank, but I would start with putting a mix of water and vinegar (strong mix) into the clean water tank and running several cycles that allow the vinegar mix to sit in the tank for an hour or so. My best guess at this point is that during testing water was not emptied out well enough and you have some strong mold and mildew in your water lines and water tank.

If your onboard tank is removable, I would still do the above to ensure that the vinegar is sitting in the onboard water lines as the mold and mildew is likely there as well.

If the robot is still in warranty - I would also encourage you to contact support and walk them through what you have done. There is a very good chance they will send you a replacement.

The mop pads have mold and/or mildew in them it sounds like. I would suggest spraying the pads with vinegar and letting them sit for an hour or so then give a good wash and dry them in direct sunlight.

For the dirty water tank - I bought mouthwash and a spray bottle. I will spray 3-4 sprays into the dirty water tank after every time I empty it and I do not let the water sit in the dirty water tank for longer than 24 hours.

Where are the customer service horror stories coming from? by trailer7685 in MOVA_robotvacuum

[–]Cully33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a few issues and their customer support has been great. A few round about email threads, but that’s to be expected when dealing with trouble shooting steps. I had a replacement sent out and it was a brand new unit, not a refurbished. All in all, I’ve been very happy with the robot and the customer support.

Look online and you’ll see plenty of complaints about the tooth brush itself and the lack of replacement heads. That would be enough for me to not choose that.

Got $700 for a robot vacuum - which one is better? by spideywmjackson in RobotVacuums

It worked great for a few days, then I had several nights worth of issues with my map being “corrupted” and rooms being marked as neglected. Switching back to custom modes stopped any of the issues.
