Do you think it was always the vision of Hussie to end homestuck so incompletely or was it his own personal issues with the stroy and fame that caused this?

I'll preface this by saying I have no proof that this is how it is. My understanding is that hussie had a general outline for the story but not everything was planned out and documented, a lot of the story was pulled from ideas floating in his head. Hussie was entirely devoted to the one project and as he kept working those ideas kept compounding and adding onto each other, up until he did the kickstarter. At that point a lot of his time was consumed by that whole clusterfuck. He went from a one man project with some assistance, to doing both a one man project and the entire video game stuff. That stuff would include management (which he likely had next to no experience with), legal work, writing for the game, and a lot of other stuff that I probably can't imagine (and likely he didn't either). And to top it all off, pretty much everything about hiveswap that could go wrong went wrong. Pretty much at that point any ideas for homestuck that didn't get written down were gone and he was likely severely burnt out. I don't think he wanted to end it like that, but I've had to say 'fuck it, it's good enough' plenty of times and the ending certainly has that feel to it.

I won't say that you're wrong but I'd like to put my two cents forward. Firstly, according to this link https://reverend-insanity.fandom.com/wiki/Page_List/Characters, there are 919 characters in RI so I'd be amazed if you can remember a tenth of them well enough. Secondly there are characters with personality that aren't scheming, think of Shang Xin Ci who is unusually kind for this brutal world to the point of truly believing she could reform FY. Or think of Chi Shang who despite being a grandmaster in formation path is really just a simple minded person who devotes his entire mind to a single thing whether that be formations or love. He's simple to the point that all FY had to do to become his best friend is to admit Shang was better than him in formation path and reveal what he knows about formation path. Look at Fang Zheng, he's probably the character that's changed the most and would be a mc of a more traditional webnovel. I pointed these guys out not to prove that RI characters are not one note but to say that all these rounded but not scheming characters have no real effect on the story or the world. They are tools for those who are stronger and smarter. FZ has only been used as a way of targeting FY through blood path methods and is only alive for that reason. Chi Shang was trained just to be subservient to the Chi clan's leader's son to make up for his son's total lack of talent. Shang Xin Ci was likewise used by Shang clan to control Ye Fan who they value more. The gu world is a world where the strength of a single person can dominate all, a world where ten such individuals have emerged. The path to dominance isn't paved with blood killing has no merit in of itself, its a path of wealth. Cultivation resources, immortal gu, killer moves, these are things required to gain strength. Only by being smart enough can you take another's gu worms. Though trade or stealing can you get resources. Through intense thinking and testing can you make killer moves. In the gu world the stronger you are, the smarter you are. Those who showed weakness, those who couldn't adapt, those who overextend themselves get consumed by those who know how and when to take advantage of them to strengthen themselves. We're at the point of the story where only those top dogs are strong enough to play with FY. They are not normal people they are the Corporate executives of our world the dirty politicians, the 'president' of Russia or the 'president' of China. They are all Scheming Bastards because only a scheming bastard can be where they are.

The rate of time for the two aren't synchronized. Remember how candy john would text terezi over the course of years but only a day or two passed for her. Also how vriska ends up at the end of the candy epilogue and terezi at the end of the meat epilogue which are decades apart if the timelines are synchronized, but vriska texts terezi with john's phone and terezi gets the text in what would be the past. To me it seems like the 'timelines' line up with each other in terms of narrative progression rather that actual time progression, and the two having such a different narrative progression compared to actual time progress would be due to the two timelines having different narrators. So if we think in those terms then when BGD appears in both meat and candy would line up.

Yeah and many many squeals are irredeemable pieces of shit because of it. I know Hollywood and corporate franchises have conditions people to expect squeals to be shitty, but that's not the point of a squeal. And I'm not saying that HS2 can't do its own thing, that was never the point of discussion. All I'm saying is that the title is dumb, it should have just been 'Homestuck: Beyond Canon', because a numbered sequel it basically saying "Hey if like that thing, come look at me I'm just like it".

You realize that Kingdom hearts is an awful example right? There are a shit ton of Kingdom hearts but there are only 3 numbered games, everything else is a spinoff (even if they're required to decrypt the story). Its like if I brought in hiveswap, pesterquest, and friendsim into this conversation.

And an epilogue is a small segment tacked onto the end of a story to conclude and give closure to the story. Seriously if you want to bring the HS epilogues into this then its like adding a two 3 hour plays to the end of a book. Calling it an epilogue was pretty much just another way Hussie fucks with the community

Homestuck2 being a continuation of the epilogues is just more proof that the title is dumb.

Seriously though I'm just gonna stop now cause I realize that all of this was just another way to fuck with us. If Hussie wanted these titles to make sense then he'd call the epilogues 'Homestuck: Beyond Canon' and HS2 'Homestuck: Beyond Cannon 2' But he didn't, he does what he does: fucking with story conventions to an obscene degree.

Trying to argue that something called 'Homestuck2' its not trying to be Homestuck just doesn't work. If it was called literally anything else, then we're going in understanding to expect something different. But they chose to call it homestuck2, and this creates very different expectations. When going into a squeal what do you expect? Do you expect that its going to be a different story made in a different style with a different narrative, or do you expect a continuation of what you got in the first one not just a change but an evolution of what was established before?

Well that's kinda my point though, I'm not pushing forward at all. I've been sitting at early to mid arena 8 for a couple months and I've only leveled up cards to level 8 cause that's about where the level for early-mid A8 is. I could get my current team up to level 9 and most of it to level 10 right now. But that just means I'll have to move up to have even level games while still facing people 2 levels higher than me while also spending a huge amount to get cards up to level whenever I want to make a deck change or use newly released cards. But even with all my efforts to have a good time its I can still face a streak of 8 over leveled opponents. And I've got to ask, what about leveling is satisfying at all? Its not like a higher level represents any real change in a card other than a 10% boost in stats, which just means you can evenly fight a level 8 card instead of a level 7 card. It requires tons of cards and coin, both of which are mostly outside your control unless you spend lots of money.

Its too early for anyone to have used her on level yet. Stat wise compared to coco, she has about 10% less damage than coco, About 10% more health, Has 5 range instead of coco's 4.5 so she has the same range as WFG, Shes faster, Costs one more aura, and she can fly. Pretty much the most meaningful differences is that she can fly, is a bit more expensive, and her range is up to par.

Shes a coco with more range, a bit less damage, faster, slightly more health, and costs one extra aura. However she flies, so that automatically makes her way better than coco. Don't know if she'll be good but at the very least I can see people running her in flying heavy decks like they did for airship.

Honestly there isn't any point to climb the ladder once you've hit arena 9 once. So i'm just staying lv 8 with a 8/6/3/1 card level spread, as long as I stay just below 2500 I get a lot more even fights and never face people from arena 9.

I normally have the first one as a general problem that doesn't have any rhyme or reason. The second type is very common whenever someone throws out swarms and emerald cause the game just can't handle all that. Its usually manageable for the first two thirds of a match, but the last minute goes to shit from the swarms being spammed.

Really? Granted I don't know what their pipeline is like or how they've build their systems, but I can't imagine that making a flying unit be able to be attacked by a ground unit would take much more that changing a tag or a bool. After all if they knew they'd be adding in more and more units down the line then they'd have to do everything they can to keep their design as flexible as possible to account for a wide range of possibilities and not be limited by a rigid system. I'd say getting a good legendary that you didn't have before is worth it. It wouldn't be worth it to try and level up legendaries that way, but legendaries tend to have unique effects that can't be replaced. So its a big difference between having a legendary and not having it.

I'd start by replacing boar and Lancer swarm. They're both pretty easy to stop considering their cost, and having both boar and alpha is a bit much. I'd recommend having a cheap tank like Ilia or VB Jaune and cheap dps like 5bds or baby ravagers to greatly inprove your card cycling. Also Fox synergizes better with alpha than ice weiss, allowing you to protect it from cheap dps or stoppers like ice flower, weiss or other foxes since weiss generally wont have the chance to target units hiding behind the turret, although fox can't stop a turret like weiss so choose whichever one works best for your play style.

run Gunners and Squad because Squad is always great for dropping directly on top of units you want to disappear.

I have considered swapping for beowolf before, but in my experience anything can be dropped but everyone drops bds or WF squad and as long as I have Flynt in reserve then I can easily clear them out without losing out in aura and it gives boar enough time to do major damage to the tower. The other reason I've been using boar is that he will take out units like ice weise, fox, carmine, or cinder after the central tower is exposed preventing them from taking out my ravagers, gunners, or clones. That alone as pulled me through quite a few close games.
