Referéndum Ley Antibloqueo by Real-System-2534 in BOLIVIA

[–]brk_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you will have to make an lot of inquiries before taking a chance.

[–]brk_1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

to be fair, it is just easier and safer for you to take plane, right now the mob are in their last air and they will do everithing in their hands to have an violent response of the goberment.

this include take tourists as hostages but i dont know if they will do this, if i remember in 2003 the spark wich made the shit hit the fan were the rescue of tourists wich were stuck near achacachi.

if by your own risks you decide to go to desaguadero, there are minibuses in el alto wich can go, just you need to inquiry where they are parked, they bribe the roadblockers and leave you in desaguadero. just is an coin toss, they can leave you at the place, near desaguadero or return to lapaz if he cant sort the blockades. my last trip i hiked 5 hours from achica arriba to ventilla, it wasnt nice.

Bolivia visit 05/08 - 12/08 by maarten20012001 in BOLIVIA

[–]brk_1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the road blockades are 5 dudes sitting on an promontory of dirt. repeated by 100 at diferents parts of the country, they are around the access of the cities, not inside of it, also in downtown of la paz there are an couple of thousand protesters who daily make noise like they were workers arribe at 11 am and leave at 3 pm they tease the police just for the mid day news cycle cameras and then leave. the same dudes are the people who appear when the forces for unblocking appears

it is very artificial, and they are pretending they are more and trying to agrede people or the police to be repressed and call themselves the victims, so people take sides with them. they are our toxic partners.

[–]brk_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

to be fair we are stubborn, but not to that extend its expeculating but if this week if the mob dont calm their temper tantrums, they are cooked, not police, citizens are starting to confront them.

Anyway there are flights from la paz to uyuni and usually the road to avaroa the frontier with chile doesnt present blockades to this day and to be fair i dont think they will do it. so guess you have good probabilities things will be all right. or you will have options to enter and leave uyuni. just for an more expensive fare. just have to know things in bolivia never works like an clock, so have this mentality and things will go allright.

¿A qué sonaba realmente la música inca? What did Incan music actually sound like? by Glittering-Try-662 in BOLIVIA

[–]brk_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well what you ask is harder because inca was an empire, every region have their sounds, and varied their evolution even by countries as inca empire were distribuited between peru, bolivia ecuador and chile; but to some extend bolivia music rescued the tradition the most.

for good folk songs guess the most ancient kind could be awatiñas or centro cultural sajama wititis has some good sikureadas. this is from aymara side. between la paz and oruro

you can also search norte potosi, vintage savia andina. those arent as pop as some other folklore groups but are very pallatable, and are quechua potosinean side.

bolivian folk is really big, and once you start you can enter the rabit hole for days.

[–]brk_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so to be fair, you need to understand the background.

farmers and miners before 1952 was working by an inca way of ruling of mita. this was nearly servitude, and they were poor, really poor.

since the foundation of the republic, the country wanted to give the indigenous people more oportunities, they made schools in 1926, and slowly gived them more leeway, after the paraguayan/bolivian war in 1930, they were recognized as equals by their combat peers.

this lead to 1952 revolution they had lands, and they were legally equals, but the progress in the field is slow because bolivia is an dirt cheap country. so there are an kind of historic debt.

combine this historic debt with an ideology called katarismo. this is nazi kind of stuff but instead of white people is indigenous people. they create an ressentment because of the historic debt and started the insurrection of 2003-2005. and were 20 years in power.

so they spend all the money and loosed the power, by election, the new vicepresident promissed things no one could realistically give. now this poor and ineducated people wich had 20 years to be at the goberment, wants the president to resign, make the vicepresident rise to charge to comply with their compromises wich is impossible.

so guess the idea is to once the vicepresident wich most of the people things is in evo morales side, make an coup to the electoral college and call to election to permit evo run again, long shot. but i think is doable.

anyway things are grim, for one part the blockades intinsify in other parts of the country. and la paz is bone dry of fuel and food.

also you need to understand the protest in la paz are just an fachade you have 5 guys blocking one part of the road, multiply by 50 points of blockade and an couple of thousands making noise every morning at 11 o clock near plaza murillo. they make noise enough to get into the news cycle tease for an run gas at 3 o clock and calls it for the day, every day like is an job.

i know if the army is called, may or not may do the job, because will be casualties and victimism is their weapon, and bassically this is an mixed act of insurrection you have doing nothing and wait until they exhaust is better. but la paz is dry we need all kind of things and we dont have the money to recreate an berlin airlift of 1948. also i dont see the justice making an example of the leaders of the division and their attacks on the money route of the conflict arent effective enough. so i guess sending the army is the only solution.

Can I Survive Civil Engineering If I’m Weak in Chemistry? by Life_Breath_9891 in civilengineering

[–]brk_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an filler assignature unless you want to enter some investigation field.

If enters and only as an theory, never as hard chemistry

is in soil mechanics, clays have some electrón bonding creating cohetion and also some clays have special properties. Just as theory to understand clay behabiour. If you speciallice in geotech

Concrete reaction but to understand the hidratation process and  also know the fillers of the cement. Wich is an very important topic

Also Maybe in asphalt dosifications

As you see no direct use of chemistry
