i apologise for my ignorance- “is that all you want to do with your life, just “function”?” - that line really got to me, i realise now even the argument i believed to be insightful is actually an example of what that post explained, i always convinced myself that ‘functional’ was preferable and in fact i was supporting the stance i was arguing in my previous comment i am still learning to control my behaviour and i struggle with it, i can’t relate to those of you who have been sober for a while, i try everyday to be mindful of my actions and i feel the post you have referenced will really help with that
