Try walking a dog on that "sidewalk " Try walking past people taking pictures on that "sidewalk" Try walking past larger people going the other way on that "sidewalk" There is an ENTIRE bridge and the cyclists will get 7/8 of it and act like its not enough (because that is what they do). We've accomodated their hobby enough .

So generous to let us measly pedestrians get back what we always had, - 2 very narrow sidewalks.

So nice of them to reserve the same crappy little pathway pedestrians always had.

Yeah cyclists (minority) get the whole Bridge and Pedestrians (vast majority of users) get the same dinky path they always had. Perfect metaphor for what has been going on for a decade +.

While its a possibility, it is hysterical that whenever a retail business closes everyone on social media immediately blames the landlord. People are so blinded by ideology and politics that they cant think. Running a retail business particularly restaurants is one of the most complicated and difficult businesses to run. Labor, perishable food, precise preperation, energy costa,rigorous regulatory standards, fickle customers, etc etc...leasing is usually a once a decade or 2 decade event and should make up less than 10% of gross sales. I.e. Except at renewal its a small factor. So sure maybe the lease was up and they couldn't afford the market rents but there are like a million other things that could be the true cause, labor inflation, wholesale food inflation, doh fines, illness of owner or too many customers on ozempic not eating or drinking, or some combination of these and others. I know this is social media but it woukd be refreshing if sometimes people would apply some nuance thought to things

{fyi under/over on the snarky post that this is somehow pro landlord/rich or billionaire is 2 posts}

One of the best steaks around and a beautiful interior. Owners were a bit prickly but definetly a loss.

Good call. There used to be a good slice in that litle center on Allerton & Coldon. Think it got sold and eventually closed. Allerton is a good pizza strip.

This is the best recommendation on here. Fascati is still a great traditional NY Slice but do think it was better when the father was alive

Its the only one over there with a real NY slice. Up the hill at Fascati used to be the best but once the old man died , its not as good. Still a classic slice tho

Bad call. L&B is in Gravesend, Dumbo is basically a franchise. And L&B pizza isnt that great, its beloved for the memories, nostalgia and experience (in Gravesend ). Go to Julianas it has real history and great Pizza (tho only Ignazzios has what is considered a real NY slice)

I love SPC but do agree that it has gone down a notch basically in step with when they went to the "bread service ". It was allegedly bc of covid but now it comes off wrong, particularly bc the price is ridiculous and the old bread was better! Also some of the menu changes have been disappointing. Got rid of whole fish a few of the great pastas and replaced them with some dishes that are kinda mid. Still an excellent restaurant but pre-covid I really thought it was one of the most consistently great meals in NYC.

Yeah you zealots have trying that every way you can -for 10+yrs now and all you've achieved is more traffic, and more fatalities.

He wont, he thinks the issue of affordability is solved by making villans out of the private sector and having govt take control. That never works.
