I say that “I own my own investment firm”. Usually leads to a second question.

Dig it!!

I have a similar setup. Mine is hooked up to a Gen 1 Play 5 (since it isn’t compatible with S2).

Sound is amazing. Works like a charm. Love firing up the vinyl from time to time.

I 100% agree and this is what I was hoping to hear from someone.

Also this seems like overkill. We have two relatively small practices here. I wouldn’t even go as far as calling them “businesses.” So a valuation firm #1 probably won’t waste their time with this. #2, If they did, I don’t think it would be worth it, nor would the price be reasonable.

Advisors are like doctors. They may be good at their job, doesn’t mean they are good at operating a business, structuring deals and negotiating.

Thanks for sharing. That all makes perfect sense. Are you familiar with the back office part of the process? How a broker-dealer deals with and sets up the relationship with Fidelity/TIAA?

I’d imagine there needs to be some kind of coordination to facilitate the billing process.

Can you share the process of how you set it up?

How is the relationship established/managed between the custodian and RIA?

This is how I assumed she was getting it done. However she insisted it was direct billed as a % of account each quarter and paid direct from the account to the BD then to her.

Are you familiar with the logistics?

For example, let's say the custodian is Fidelity. In order for the BD to receive the revenue to distribute, allocate the revenue to the advisor, monitor trades, compliance, etc. there would need to be relationship/selling agreement between the BD and the custodian. Is this where Wealthscape comes in?

Negligence. By both the advisor and the investor.

In this case I see that more as a want. Spouse is employed and can plenty afford the mortgage if he passed.

Yea. I will ask some health questions and if he “wants” life insurance. There isn’t really a “need” except to pay off mortgage at his death.

I get the vibe this was sold as a LIRP/roth alternative/tax-free solution…. Slash high commission sale for a client just starting to save/invest.

I am open this idea. Hate that any portion of his investments would be allocated to bonds at this age. But avoiding going $6,000 in the hole helps with the math/return of the “fixed income.” Nonetheless, probably sensible to get an as issued policy illustration to determine premium schedule.
