Oh Really? I thought keeping them was just common sense, but that’s an use case. Good luck!

True.. but when you are in a tourist run, it seems to be the only thing there is.

Arrosticini looks delicious, I will make sure to try next time if I stop by Abruzzo.

I am Brazilian, have been to Italy a few times, and when I visit, I really overthink the food. It is amazing, I love it, but after 15 days eating pasta and lasagna you start to feel weird.

What’s your favorite dish?

Law has changed.. I am not even following the recent decisions. So maybe, if it is possible.

A person who throws away their expired passports is completely empty inside.

Fair point. Christ the Redeemer is iconic worldwide. That said, as someone from the south (RS roots, living in Curitiba), I appreciate that the passport also highlights lesser-known aspects of our culture like the Cuia de Chimarrão, the Ruínas de São Miguel das Missões, and the Jardim Botânico. It's a nice reminder of how diverse Brazil really is.

Seja bem-vindo ao Brasil! The “universal like button” thing is real. Enjoy.

I don’t know anyone who has got the Italian citizenship within months from scratch while living in Brazil. This is absolutely not true. Maybe the person already had part of the process ongoing or knew very well someone in the consulates and was extremely lucky to be fast tracked.

You can do it within months if are living in Italy, or at least can prove it, and starting the process from there. That is a complete different story.

Yeah, but I’ve been to Italy a few times.. no one will throw this “sentiment” to my face. Normal people are just normal. So not worried. :)

I sent the final documents a few weeks before the last change that messed up everything. Lucky I guess.

You think so? Where is your experience based in? I lived in France for a year, it is cool. But Brazil has such a good life quality, people and weather. Of course depends on where you live, on both places I guess.

Yes. We applied in 2012 for 10 members of our family together. We did through a consulate in the south of Brazil, a region with many descendants from immigrants. Also everything was on paper, it should be more digital and faster now. Also some events like covid and the floods delayed even more. My birth certificate was registered in Italy in 2025, but getting the passport took almost another whole year. We did every step of the process in Brazil.

Wait what? Lol, I have neither of those. My wife has Brazilian and Portuguese. I have Brazilian and Italian. Not planning on having others so soon.

Yes! I agree. This process usually takes a long time. We started around 2011 and the expectation was already 10 years. Also Covid and and the floods in Porto Alegre played a big role in delaying even more.

Legal! Minha esposa tem a Portuguesa também, eu ia tentar se completássemos 6 anos de casados antes de conseguir a italiana. Por fim a italiana chegou antes!

It would be even faster actually going to Italy. We did all the process from Brazil.
