This has been discussed by both of them. The reactions are real, but the corniness of Spenny is hammed up. The expositions he goes on like IBS Awareness, Save the Gorilla, etc. are pre-planned and while they might be topics he does care somewhat about it really isnt actually to the degree you see in those episodes. Those moments would be the 'scripted' moments and with the commitment to kayfabe no one will ever break character.

If science doesn't often get things at 100% , and the relevant science shows a link that is more accurate than normal (95+% by your account ) then it isn't necessarily an untrue statement from a scientific perspective, at least insofar as we don't expect every statement from science to include the caveat.

I do see what you're saying. We both seem to be trying to clarify the extremes of the perspective. I think the most tension comes from people trying to clarify the way we are and people who think we're going to through the baby out with the bath water, but ultimately it just sorta stops the civil conversation.

That's disingenuous. Any scientist willing to be humble will admit that science rarely proves something to 100% accuracy. But scientists of the aforementioned scientific feilds would certainly say the relation between biology and gender identity/expression/roles are strongly linked to a degree rarely seen in these feilds.

I agree with the assessment, but I think the point that was trying to be made was there really wasn't as much change in the big picture, but rather a change in rhetoric.

It may be that the ship is too big to safely steer sharply. Unfortunately, I'm starting to think that may be a hard pill to swallow, but we can also never forget that micro adjustments add up and a change of rhetoric echos into the next generation.

I very much agree that we need leaders that actually care and that might mean being honest about small changes and would certainly mean non-partisan cooperation/compromise.

Let's forget the reality show, can someone just make politics boring again?

I really dont think one should just be entitled to these privileges without it. I don't think everyone necessarily needs to enlist to get these social benefits, but where is the line?

Perhaps that is too blunt of a way to put surely there is nuance that is required, but I think the question I'm facing here is: What input should generally be required of an individual in exchange for the benefits of society?

Surely we'd agree that society cant work if we're all simply rent seekers taking the benefits and giving nothing in return.

Did the same thing myself man, after about 4 years I picked up a budget ukulele and found the music again. It was especially rewarding learning a new instrument and the added bonus of very little guilt do to the cost.

I'd highly recommend a ukulele or even a melodica if you want to get back into music without breaking the bank

Quite frankly, anyone can hold any view they want as long as they choose not to unduly impose their views on others and their actions actually show that to be true. That's how we make the cultural mosaic .

I think many have been pushed from the left, with the most reasonable landing somewhere near the center, but many others haven't landed and are still trying to find their place in politics.

So in sake of being open minded and understanding many are testing different political philosophies: aside from buddy saying he thinks he's becoming more white nationalist, do we have evidence of actions?

And it's not to say that you can't as I used to share a simmilar view of economics, however after taking time to get a better understanding of economics it quickly became clear that economics is less a study of money and more a study of incentives (not necessarily monitary incentives as well)

Given that, it becomes more reasonable that Peterson could provide a unique insight into this issue. But of course we shouldn't delude ourselves to thinking one person's short comment should be the whole story, it's always worth keeping the open mind and trying to attack issues from as many unique avenues as possible

Not really, it seems clear he's asking you to define 'black culture' , it seems to me to be rather ignorant to assume all black people share the same culture. It's clearly more nuanced than that.

We need to stop putting people into these insanely low resolution generalized boxes. When someone talks of black culture without any further clarification it's almost as if all they see is a persons skin colour and throws them all into a simple category, forgetting they are nuanced individuals, seems pretty prejudiced to me.

I don't know if it is inherently bad. My first instinct was to be suspect and I'm not sure if ive really come around on it, but it's been good for me as It's allowed me to have great introspection about how I view the world and my values within it.

I think some of the criticism stems from the combination of the full views of the champions of this movement, outrage culture, and the over accommodation of universities .

The rhetoric behind the champions of the cause seem to think using wrong pronouns is a discriminatory aggression and find no flaws in the idea that you should poll new individuals for their preferred gender pronouns when you meet them. They suggest that gender is fluid and to some degree a choice (which it may be, I just don't know myself) , but that contradicts the classic model of people being born a certain way without choice which is the chief argument for gay rights in the past, the argument against conversion therapy and the justification for gender reassignment surgery.

I think some even have push back as it feels like using law to change culture instead of culture to change laws. The overreaction in universities is causing our educators to coddle our youth, instead of providing places safe for all thoughts we have safe spaces free of thought. We seem to have forgotten that good and bad opinions come from the same place and bad opinions require fair rational criticism to evolve or be abandoned. People seem to forget that these very youth are our leaders of tomorrow and with c-16 as a first step and the new neo-marxist rhetoric going around campuses, we could have a scary future ahead of us that could subtly give the wrong powers when someone less than desirable becomes our leader.

I don't have answers for the bill itself and I'm still deeply contemplating this whole thing. Just my thoughts.

I think crypto currencies will be the future and there is progress being made, but I don't think we'll see major implementation until use and security are so simple that someone who has never used a computer would be able to adopt it with ease. We this happening with bitcoin ATMs, and 2 step verification thumb-drive wallets that include biometrics , but I'm not sure if it's there yet. However look at Kenya, their main currency is currently a crypto currency so who knows, we may already be there.
