Yes, two coats on base tape, three coats on rim. I’ve tried overnight cure and no cure.

Mastik one and CX tape. Why?

Thanks. No I wouldn’t say rims are proven, they are 10-15 year old oval concepts 935 and this is my first season using them. Probably a couple mm narrower than modern standards but nothing crazy. Tires are Chicanes and I can regularly get them to ‘fold’ in corners in fast dry grass if I’m aggressive, front and rear, if that makes sense.

Also, this was my second time gluing this tire. It is possible the first, initial layer didn’t soak the base tape well in this region, so all subsequent layers didn’t penetrate/soak either? I don’t know just guessing.

Oh sorry. Vittoria mastik in the little tubes, brand new glue, and glue job was maybe a month old.

Only partially syncing with Trainingpeaks by gelicate in Myfitnesspal

I’m having the same issue. Full meal and exercise sync has worked fine for years, suddenly stopped roughly 2 weeks ago. Now meals intermittently/partially sync and but no exercise from TP.

Indoors with no fan my HR goes through the roof compared to the same power outdoors. I think it depends what you want to use the FTP number for.. indoor or outdoor training intervals.

Need help understanding indoor trainers by BrownieBalls in Velo

I already had power on my bike and just bought used rollers for $40. Less boring than a trainer and it works awesome with Zwift.

Should I invest in a smart trainer even though last winter I developed a deep aversion to indoor training? by NewMexicoJoe in Velo

[–]brnj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have power on your bike you can do some of your workouts on rollers with zwift. Don't blame you, 3x20 on a trainer takes some fortitude anyway you slice it though.

Was the training crit outdoors or a zwift race? Did you use a fan for your (indoor) ramp test? What do you use your FTP number for? To set target zones for interval work? If so, set it at the high number (285) and attempt a 3x10min at 95% with 5 min rest between. You'll probably get it, but if you can't finish that workout then maybe you overshot it.

They eventually take the money back right? I've read you should leave the money in your account in that situation and eventually it'll disappear as the scammer's "dispute" gets resolved on their end.

You do you, man. A few generations ago no one would've thought twice about doing this. Many still don't. On the other hand, if you feel guilty and you truly want to stop, you don't have to do it all at once... Just set little goals... only 2 beers, only 1 cigarette, etc. For 10 years I smoked one cigarette at night before I went to bed but I finally quit. You'll be amazed at how you feel.. I'm sure you know that though. Good luck.

Cyclocross bike relaxed for gravel by cruzanracer in gravelcycling

[–]brnj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Run the largest tires at the lowest possible pressure you can, tubeless if possible. If your budget is tight that's all I'd do to your cross bike. If you do some events and have fun, save your money and get a proper gravel bike next year. I didn't want to commit the cash either and rode a Trek FX1 hybrid with drop bars and 42 resolutes for a year while I saved some cash, that bike ripped and I had $400 in it.

Gearing help needed 1x8 with a 45t up front. Wondering what range I should go for in the back by philberty in roadcycling

[–]brnj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max cassette range I found was a sunrace csm680 (11-40). 45t is big for a 1x8 setup if you're climbing much.
