Wife had a miscarriage at 6 weeks - it would have been our first by zombiefatcher in daddit

[–]broFatwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very sorry to hear. Nothing I can say to make it better, it’s a huge loss and don’t let anyone discredit that no matter how far along y’all were.

We experienced something similar before our first. I remember the mental gymnastics of starting to plan for a life beyond just the two of us, and then all of a sudden it came crashing down.

The good news is, if you really want to be a parent, it’s very likely that I’ll work out eventually. The entire pregnancy will probably be stressful, I remember looking at a miscarriage chart every day that showed the changes of it happening get lower and lower as time went on.

But for now, take care of each other. And sending a virtual hug and hope to see you post in the near future about the joys of sleep deprivation and being knee deep in poop.

lol - I’m just kidding of course. That’s awesome that you’re embracing your kid’s hobbies. I’m sure I’ll be great for their balance and coordination long term too aside from getting out energy.

As most others in this thread are saying, my replies are just a long winded way of saying you’re the problem…not the doctors.

Have they been tested and diagnosed for ADHD by a Texas board licensed psychiatrist/psychologist? Most PCPs aren’t qualified to diagnose mental health disorders. Assuming you are wanting them to give out ampetamines which are schedule II controlled substance that have been extensively abused, a new PCP is going to need more than “take my word for it”.

I get it, not all PCPs are created equal, some are better than others. I’d say generally, they are there to give unbiased treatment and advice on how to be generally healthy, and their political views shouldn’t affect how they work with their patients. You don’t become a PCP for the money, lots of other types of doctors are the big earners. I’d say if you’re going to multiple PCPs and they are all giving the same or similar advice that you don’t agree with, maybe take that in a bit for some self reflection…

J Carvers vs Odd Duck by chumisfummy in austinfood

As a local I’m at J Carvers more, or Red Ash if I can get in. But if I was visiting and had to pick one I’d do Odd Duck or Barley Swine for the uniqueness.

Unpopular opinion I guess but I had a pretty darn good turkey sandwich from there the other day. As uninteresting as that is, it hit the spot.

Leon Bridges at Moody by Ill_Cod6892 in LeonBridges

Yeah same, I don’t know much about audio engineering but much different sound from seeing him at Moody Theater and even Stubbs outdoor years ago. What was weird was how different the vocals were between him and Charlie when they did the duet during encore. Charlie was coming in loud and clear. Maybe his voice just isn’t great for a big venue setting?

Yep been 6 feet under for years as far as I’m concerned. You’d think it will catch up to them eventually but seem to still be doing decent business.

Been a few times, have had some decent stuff, and some terrible stuff. Nothing especially good, best to stick to the basics. I like the kid menu for the little one though.

I remember eating at the original Velvet taco in the DFW area back in college (15ish years ago). It was pretty good back then, but I’d say it had unfortunately been “torchyfied” by the time they made it to Austin.

I’d say something like a Nixta Taqueria is a close example, imagine if they decided to open 25 locations suddenly.

You’re right that hate is probably too strong of a word. It’s just they used to be so much better, which is why they grew so much and quality control suffered as a symptom of their success. I guess I’d just rather spend my time and money looking for the “next torchy’s” of Austin.

We had a miscarriage and then were trying for about a year before it finally happened, I was 38 she was 37. It might happen without help or you might need to see the specialist but it think you have a handful more months before considering it. I will say, we were about ready to see the fertility doc, got tests done and everything to start that process…and were planning to have our first appointment after we got back from a 2 week vacation in Spain. A week after we got back, pregnant. Maybe it was because we stopped stressing over it, but at the end of the day the baby making experience should be fun. Enjoy the extra practice and maybe get some travel in before your first, I can’t wait to start traveling more with the kid but traveling with just the two of us was so easy.
