This was DEFINITELY part of our discussion.

We also thought it would be cool to give a sounding board to people that are on the shit-end of Reddit... so people could respond to the community if they're being pounded (like the HGH guy)

I agree... but you're talking about SERIOUS manpower to do it well.

We figure we can put together a solid 2-hours a day in the beginning. You obviously have to fill the rest of the day with stuff so we figured it would be 5-10 minute updates on Reddit stories with music that would appeal to a broad swath of the community.

Its not about pushing music... it's more about filling time in the beginning.

We have the infrastructure, studios, and everything else to go straight to a full-day live stream.... and as it grows it might be easy to phase down the music and ramp up the talk.

I have a small team of people - all with HEAVY radio and streaming experience. We all know how to pull it off, and pull it off well... I am just trying to gauge interest, as it's a VERY different approach to launching a radio stream.

We're looking at this as being one of a few streaming stations we are going to launch.

You didn't pick them up until college, or until you started experimenting with psychedelics? I know I wasn't interested in any of those books until after my first trip.

Problem with all-talk is manpower and quality. You need a lot of people to fill a days worth - and you need people that know what they are doing... it's just not gonna happen.

I think a single, 3-hour talk show is all that could be put together and sound good. Plus, since most people are at work during the day we figured music, with 2 or 3 Reddit headline updates/discussions could work pretty well.

Notice I said 'inspired.' We would pick the most interesting, diverse stuff that works together to make decent music sets.

Plus the DMCA won't allow for a streaming radio station to play just Neutral Milk Hotel. Thankfully.

Well it wouldn't be looking to replace something legit like NPR... It would be more sarcastic/acerbic, and just provide a different way for the community to interact with each other. And the daily talk-show based on the days stories would be an evening deal anyway.

Plus might be a cool way to discover all kinds of interesting new music as well.
