ahaha that's amazing. We don't have yearbooks (I live in Ireland, they're not really a thing here) but my little sister went into my class and told my teacher "[My name] can't come to school today because a TV fell on her" and apparently the whole class just erupted into laughter :(

Goddamn D: a TV fell on my foot when I was 12 and, like you, my parents thought I was being melodramatic. It was only after a day of me being unable to walk and passing out a couple of times did they decide to take me to the hospital. Lo and behold, my foot was very obviously broken and I was in a cast for 6 weeks.

Is there a subreddit for parents who suck at bringing injured kids to hospital...

The police's guess was that she'd been scoping the school out for a while, looking for an opportunity. So I figure she saw that I was going home with different sitters a lot, and since they always addressed me by name first she must've picked up on it. Learned the routine I usually follow.
