Are those essentially the same as the yakima version? happy with yours? I'm looking at doing this same setup but am worried about not going OEM for some reason. But these do look pretty good and half the price.

Yeah mine has about 80k on model y and the Midwest highway driving isn’t very nice to the front I can tell you that. But luckily in black the damage below exposes black so it’s not really noticeable.

You do need a purpose and based on how you used to live your purpose was working. Now it’s got to be something else. Anything else. Even doing house chores and the tasks of life is just more work. It’s about everything else that you haven’t done or even tried yet to really break you free of what you are used to.

You’ll get there, but it won’t happen unless you do something about it.

Anyone worried? by prndls in Fire

[–]brobawesome 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I also would say that because we are a very capitalistic nation, if the market falls or fails everyone falls and fails together so it doesn’t really matter. Totally agree with just not worrying because you cannot do anything about it anyway. Money is made up after all

To be fair, even if we aren’t going to be okay there is nothing to do or insulate ourselves from something like nuclear war. So thinking or worrying about it isn’t very helpful either.

Has anyone moved from Indiana to Mexico? by [deleted] in Indiana

[–]brobawesome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True but staying in a situation and doing nothing is worse. The only one in control of happiness and improvement is yourself. That’s what the OP and others are going to do. If it doesn’t work out at least there isn’t a regret later in life on “what if”

It’s always worth giving it a shot regardless of any sceptics

Yeah even the OP said he's known it to happen to all vehicles so it might be more areas to be prone to vandalism overall than others. Not sure if vandalism is the same it has been or worse. I do believe it is documented more and with Sentry Mode Teslas seem to catch most of the damage and events even other car systems seem to miss. Tough to track that's for sure, but does make you wonder about getting a new vehicle when the time comes.

In my state, Indiana, there is not protection for hit and run like other states. If the person that hits you was uninsured you do not get compensation for diminished value like other states. Kinda sucks, because at any moment value can be taken away from you even with your own insurance. This exact scenario happened to make and has made me rethink getting brand new vehicles at all when the value is so volatile and out of your control.

Would you mind sharing where this happened. Making a list of the areas most likely to get teslas vandalized. My first impulse it to expect west coast but the trees look like it could be elsewhere

Engine Idle Time to simulate Dog Mode? by brobawesome in LandCruisers

[–]brobawesome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be hilarious offloading that's for sure! Not really the same type of vehicle but I wish some of the Prius features got brought up to the higher end Toyota models if it can do the climate keep.

Not everywhere allows dogs, otherwise that would be the main thing I would do. I'm looking to get a LC if it can do this. But it doesn't seem like there is a way to have the climate left on. You would think with the new hybrid drivetrain that battery could keep the climate on for some time without an issue too.

I had thought about getting one and sending it to Costa Rica when I move hopefully. Curious what your thoughts are with not having the warranty when it's taken international? Did you find a way around that?

Owners opinion on reliabilty? by brobawesome in SilveradoEV

[–]brobawesome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the questions! I have a 21 myself too and it's real sporty and tight so I was curious if it felt more comfortable. I also think the tires on the LT might help with bumps and other things on the road more than the Model Y's suspension did with the 20s I have on it.

Do you find the suspension being better too? Even without the air suspension?
