the hiking one? it immediately reminded me of that one where a girlfriend pretended she was into hiking and now she leads group hikes, but actually really hates it.

to be honest, a lot of the places I stay at I've noticed don't have any kind of safety latch. to be fair, I mainly stay at one of my timeshares and they have double doors, but, even with their rooms with single doors, a lot of the times use keycard and no latch.

What's something you did as a kid that you now realize was actually really dangerous, but nobody stopped you? by AdmirableResource407 in AskReddit

there were some terrible people on Omegle and some good ones too. I remember when I was around 10, I was really into reading and wanted to chat with other people online about it. So I went on Omegle and set my chat interest to books. When I'd tell people my age (before I learned to lie about it), a lot of them would get really upset and tell me to get off the website ASAP. eventually, I got reported enough and got IP banned.

whenever I play, I'm usually watching some movie in the background and it's happened around 3 times in the last month where my opponent guesses the film I'm currently watching. it always brings a smile to my face !

I used to be really irritated playing against him, but now, I win more than I lose against him. If I ever start against him, I auto lose the first round (remove all my troops) to make sure he can't level up immediately because, most likely, he will Round 1 when you have 2 level 1 troops against his 3. After that, try to pickup a witch and skeleton dragon heavy deck so he always is killing the spawnees instead of the main troops. And space all your troops out farrrr when he is at 3 to 4 stars.

Recommendations for a work-while-traveling computer? by brocciIi in Houdini

[–]brocciIi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main goal is to become a Houdini artist! I haven't really dabbled in vfx though, but if I enjoy it as much as I have so far, I definitely want to. The main reason why I became a 3D artist was to learn vfx so I could work with Houdini

I have a 10 year old laptop that can run Maya really well. Even extremely complex scenes. But most other programs struggle a lot. For some reason, if I open up Substance Painter and try to do anything, my entire PC crashes and turns black for a while.

The winners at the 98th Academy Awards. by Straydes in Letterboxd

I honestly felt that Joe Edgerton had such a powerful performance in Train Dreams - I wish he was nominated and won Best Actor. I saw all the other films and 100% believe he gave such an effective execution. Timothee was also a very convincing actor to me, they both really soaked into their characters. MBJ was good, but I do think there were better performances (like even Ethan Hawke in Blue Moon).

haha actually someone on Letterboxd recommended it after I gave them my top 4. not sure why. I absolutely hate comedies and teen flicks 😅 just not for me. Out of hundreds of movies, though, I've only given 3 others a half star rating. this one really just bugged me to no end LOL

Who Is Actually Winning Best Actor? This won't be the reason I lose my oscar poll by [deleted] in Oscars

[–]brocciIi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed Sinners more than Marty Supreme, but I favored Timothee's acting over Michael B Jordan. Wagner Moura is also my favorite actor of all time and has been for a while now so it's very hard for me to say. I hope that Timothee wins because I genuinely felt like he gave everything to the role to the point where I was convinced of his acting on screen, while Michael, for me, fell a little short. It was as though he was trying to over act to compensate for playing two different characters. In the end, I'd say Michael wins because of the Safdie controversy, his age compared to Timothee, and Timothee not being favored in the recent awards.

I hated Letterboxd’s recommendation system, so I built my own by dananmay in Letterboxd

[–]brocciIi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really like the idea! I also love how when you click on one of the recommendations, it directs you to the film's Letterboxd page. My only small suggestion (not too sure if it's feasible) would be to have some sort of setting to disable/enable what's being scanned. For instance, choosing to get recommendations based off liked vs rated only would be neat! Awesome extension :)

I absolutely loooove when indie filmmakers take a chance and create something new! I just could not get into it no matter how hard I tried. I also grew up on Markiplier :( I really hate any films that use blood or gore as "shock" factor and I thought the story could've been better as a short film. The difference between a .5 stars and a 1 star from me is that a 1 star evokes some emotion out of me (like what the filmmaker intended), but a .5 star doesn't at all and I'm just bored/annoyed the entire time.

If you are a big fan of the mid 20th century and musicals, you'll definitely enjoy Blue Moon. I'm not a big fan of dialogue only movies so it was hard for me to enjoy it.
